Question resurfacing ACT pressure plate?

Anyone know if an ACT Extreme disk can be resurfaced? I like the PP, hate the OEM style organic disk however. I know they make a disk with better heat-bearing properties, but I think I'm going to try a stage III clutchmasters. I've had the clutch in there for about 8 months, 6 of which were with the car down. I have an aluminum flywheel and I can just order a new facing. I really would like to avoid purchasing my third PP in a year. Thanks for the advice in advance

Ok, did the smart thing and called ACT. Apparently, I can reuse the pressure plate if it is not significantly worn or cracked. Call them for specs. Anyway, I called Clutchmasters right after that and found out that their stage III disk is not only over $400 just for the friggin' disk, but it won't hold 340rwhp! Bah! So...it's a stage 4, 4 segmented disk with a sprung hub. Still not cheap at $290. Anyone on the forum a Clutchmasters dealer that can do better than $290?

Yeah I heard about Judge Ito's brother...didn't know that Racing Beat even had a six puck sprung hub! IMHO, that would be ever so slightly less severe than a 4 puck sprung hub. What'd it run you?

Ok, just went to the RB page...Vosko, are you using this disk to drag on a regular basis? RB says it's for occasional drag racing...just how harsh is it on the street?

just to chime in here, I don't have a high horsepower car but I'm in the process of building it up. I have a trust cat-back, pettit intake, a power fc on order and i know a dp and probably a mp will soon follow. I never plan on going single but eventually i'd like to upgrade the twins...anyways I have a used act pp and disc (got a really good deal) I wanted to get a new disc before it is installed. From what i got from the posts i can interchange the RB disk with the act pp. Would the 6-puck be worth it for me or should i get the RB sport/strip disk or option no. 3 get a new act disk. on a side note, i don't plan to drag race my car (besides maybe an occasional trip to the drag strip) I do plan on doing scca though.

Thanks in advance.

You would be fine with the ACT disk. Theirs is a "higher quality" version of the OEM disk for lack of a better description. My setup was perfect on the street at 340rwhp (heck the stocker started to let go at about 310) and it's the mose driveable setup out there (that'll hold the power). My problem has ONLY been at the strip using drag radials or slipping the clutch. So for the street or SCCA roadrace/autocross, you'll be more than fine.
