I was about to order a D&D prepped T56 with the adapter plate drilled for the 20b auto bellhousing. After seeing this thread I asked them and they said the same thing about high RPM shifts.
I have never driving a dogmission. How touchy are they for street driving. I was at one time looking at the Acosta / Liberty setup but could get the D&D T56 for less. I can't justify $7k for the Gforce setup.

I think I found a solution. The M6 and M12 vette boxes (C5 &C5 Z06) have triple and double syncros instead double and single. The problem of course is the case is setup to be mounted directly to the differential. My original 20b plan was to adapt this setup to my car, but I've decided to save that for another day when I have about $7000 burning a hole in my pocket.

Recently Caddy released the CTS-V which basically has an M12 gearbox with triple and double cone synrcos mounted off the back of the motor instead of ahead of the differential. The best part is that they kept the shifter mount 'semi remote,' so it should make it easier to mount it in the right position. If this is correct I believe it would be a great starting point given what people have told me about the M12 box. I say starting point because 5th and 6th gear are still very tall, so I would budget another $1,000 to swap them out for lower ratios unless the motor has the cojones to sustain 76mph at 2,300 rpms.

Its like driving a semi. You have to double clutch the downshifts and match RPM's
Some people love it but I think its a pain. The plus side is just jamming gears on the straight.

Yeah, I've ditched the idea of going with the TKO. I started to think about using a Jatco but my current power is a little too much for it. I'm now going with a Braked C4 transmission.

Whatever happened to people wanting to use the supra W55-59 trannies ?
Or even the W50 Iron case from the old 20R trucks or celicas, we use them on our cars here in NY and in PR.. with 26x10 Slicks, all day dumping the clutch at 10K perifial geneburg and 275 Nos...No Problem .

All you need is your turboII , rx3-4 bellhousing and a $250 adaptor plate. ..oh use your clutch with a toyota center spline.

God Bless

FWIW, I"m very intersted in all this as well, and have been going through (obviously) much of the same research that you guys are seeing, and come to very simliar conclusions with the T56, TKO, supra etc. If some sort of "group buy" does go on for a tranny, I"d certainly be interested. I am not looking for a dog box as my goal is streetability... <- by my own definition which means basically like stock more or less.
