2mm corner seal testing will begin soon
A set of 2mm ceramic corner seals and hard faced springs are on their way down under for testing in Pete's SP. The engine will run NRS 2mm 2pc seals in conjunction with the corner seals. This build should happen fairly quickly so hang on for some results. V BOX data will be compiled for the tests and I will post results here later.
Rob from Pineapple Racing will do some initial static testing on the 3mm corner seals and compare drag to the steel corner seals prior to installing them in an engine.
I'm also sending Pete, Rob and anyone else who will do testing a build sheet from the factory manual so that all specs and clearances can be documented on the same platform for reference later on.

Hey, do you guys have 2 piece in stock of the new material? How about those corner seals? I'm gonna be opening my motor again due to an o-ring failure from having a ton of oil in the chamber due to a turbo failure.

Copied from Ausrotary:
Jake wanted me to let you know: Today 12 Months after the engine build on NRS Ceramics and thousands of k's covered she laid down an utterly stunning 448rwkw or 600+rwhp on 24psi on a Dyno Dynamics that was calibrated by them only a few weeks ago!
Amazing show of durability and it did it again in the face of much hate from others who simply cannot comprehend the power and the bullet proof nature of the Apex seals....... best thing is it did it against its peers and on a dyno well know to us for many years of local competition events and also the fact that it was factory calibrated so soon is but another nail in the coffin on the opposition
Here's the video again, further details on Jakes car including VBOX data page 24 of this thread

Link doesn't work.
On another note, your seals seemed to have survived some thrashing... https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...54&postcount=2 although it was just rubbing and heat so I don't think a lot of pressure was put on them but nice to know I didn't damage these expensive pieces or the new OEM housings

I wouldn't recommend running then dry. The standard 1 oz per gallon is fine.
Although the ceramic does not require as much lubrcant I am not aware of any proof as to how much less is ok. Besides oiled ceramic is very slippery, you wouldn't want to lose that benefit.

You never want to run apex seals dry no matter what they're made out of. 1 oz of premix per gallon is fine and I notice no carbon at all. I use Amzoil 100to1- it's the ****.
