nos imtercooler spray, want input from experienced ones

I read some higher then wanted intake air temps through my commander. About 50c is normal when It is around 80-90 degree's out, goes even higher when parked in the sun. One time I was boosting it at these numbers and my commander read 178 knock so I started thinking about a solution because I didn't damage the engine and don't wanna puch my luck.
I currently have a nos kit from a aborted project car, the nos has never actually been used so it is new. I want to use a spray kit on the intercooler.

Who has experience using one of these nitrous intercooler spray kits ?

I was looking for some general feedback. How much will this lower the air intake temp ? Do differently design spray bars function better then other ? Does anyone use a switch/button to spray ? or do you program it to spray at a certain boost number? Certain air intake temp ? How often will the nos tank need to be filled ? Will the nos cool the air intake down so much I would need to have it re tuned ? What sort of power gains would I see ?

Co2 is cheaper and easy to find, but since you already have the NOS bottle, I guess use it up. That bottle should be able to be filled with C02 when its empty and all the plumbinmg and solenoids will still function fine. As for specifics such as different bar sprayers and such, sorry I don't have those answers.

A friend of mine used a NX kit on his FC. He said it worked pretty well, but used a ton of Co2 because he had it setup to start spraying at around 2 or 3 lbs.

I would say sell the kit and switch to a alochol/methanol injection kit. Will yield much higher HP gains due to cooler temps than the NOS kit as well as the added benifit of higher octane which means higher boost and more agressive timing.

Just my .02

Good luck!

I personally wouldnt use NOS its like $10/lb to get a bottle filled on average, use C02 its cheaper and easier to obtain. And there is a company out there called DEI that makes C02 intercooler sprayers and a system that hooks up to your intake. Its called the Cry02 line or something.
