It basically means the top 6cyls will continue to be Supras.... nothing changed.

With these new rules, I think NOT my friend, all those CONSISTANT Automatic Supras you see running those times ALL have NON-OEM Domestic trannys in them, which are now, NOT ALLOWED, if you were to use a Toyota modified automatic tranny, you're limited to about 700RWHP, anything more than that, it's no good, not to mention that you can't use a transbrake with a Toyota auto tranny(trust me on this my very good friend has had all these setups, and runs in Street class), also 6 cyl's are NOT ALLOWED to use DOT Bias plys, ONLY DOT Radials. So what I'm trying to say is now the AWD's and Rotaries have a better chance at winning alot of events.

I agree. The Titan supra is the only one still running a production 6 speed gearbox.

Yes this is true, BUT Titan DOES NOT meet the weight requirements for IDRC presently(unless they add weight), and also they're gonna be running NDRA this year so I guess there goes that.

New news guys, the IDRC will decide to let the 6cyls run NON-OEM trannys again, now with a 350-400 pound weight panalty, BUT the use of slicks will still be prohibited. They changed the rules again due to the 6cyl NON-OEM tranny guys protesting. When the IDRC lets me know of what the exact weight penalty will be, I'll post it.

Well, if a NON oem tranny means they can runn 1000rwhp instead of 700rwhp then 300-400lbs isnt going to do ****

OK guys more news from IDRC, the weight penalty for 6cyl Street Class cars with a NON-OEM transmission(TH400, TH350, Powerdlide, AOD, Etc.) has been set at 500lbs. That's the final word, and will soon show on IDRC's website. Just keeping you guys informed.

Looks like the DSMs have an advantage this year. Shepherd was pulling off 9.3s at the end of last year. With the Supras getting nasty penalties its going to be a toss up.

I think some of you missed the point. This is good news. It means people like Paul Efantes won't be able to run street class and it will make the playing field more fair. The good news is if your running a 2rotor you "can" run an aftermarket tranny. If your running a 20B you'll have to stick with the stock tranny. Titan will do well again, but it will leave room for people like Ray Wilson and Ari Yallon to make a run for first place again.
