need for speed

Go to www.mazspeed.com and personal.riverusers.com/~yawpower for starters... read and learn.
you can go pretty far with the 12A. Basically start out with a better exhaust, that and a better fuel pump will see you to about 120hp straight away. (Depending on how good (loud) the exhaust is) With better induction (big Weber or modified stock carb) you can get 150 or so HP without even having to crack the engine open. Then if you want more (150hp will put you in the high 14's, or a tad quicker than a stock Turbo II) then you pull the engine apart and street port it, which requires better induction and exhaust to be of any benefit anyway. Now you're looking at 160-200 or so HP depending on how well and how big the street port is, and how good your carb/manifold and exhaust are. Now you're really hauling *** and eating stock FD's for breakfast (mid-low 13's). Then you want more and you tear the engine apart again and go for a bridge port, and you need still better induction and exhaust (read: very loud and/or expensive - i've heard of quiet exhausts done for BP's but they're not cheap) and now you've got 225-300hp depending on the package. Now the car is insanely quick (13 flat to low 12's). But you still want more! So you add a 125-200 shot of nitrous (call it NAWSS and we will take away your '7 and give you a Civic ) and they kick you off the track for not having a roll cage because your car is so fast.
Other people just swap in a 13BT and leave it alone. How boring.
