need advice on Greddy FMIC

I currently have the Pettit cold intake and Apexi catback on my 95 rx-7. HKS downpipe, koyo radiator and pettit air separator tank are on their way and soon to be installed. I intend to also eventually make the necessary upgrades to the fuel system and ECU and probably get a boost controller.
Anyways, my question is this, will the Greddy front mount IC (for my stock twins) be a reasonable addition to this setup and if so, does anyone know what is involved in the installation? (removal of bumper reinforcement, etc).

thanks

The Greddy front mount is a great intercooler, but is a pain to install. You have to remove the bumper and cut the reinforcment. Of all the intercoolers out there is probably the most time consuming. The advantages are well worth the pain in the *** install.

I have the Apex GT intercooler that didn't require cutting or removing the bumper reinforcement!! But I personally wish I could of got the Greddy 3 row intercooler because I like the way it looks and I think all the trouble required installing it is very well worth it!!

I love my Greddy FMIC, it has one of the biggest core, looks good, performance is great, the A/C still functions, and it does not increase lag.

Yes, the install was very time consuming but well worth it. The install requires that you cut the fiberglass bumper, not the reinforcement bar!
You will need to carefully trim about 2'' off your bumper skin. This is not
hard to do, just take your time.

You will not be able to use used your Petitt intake heat shield, just the two K&N filters. I think the Koyo might be alittle too thick............

thank you, Jetlag
i am finding out that i am not the type of guy who sells performance parts once i buy them even though they may present some unforeseen problem. for example, the unorthodox pulley set (if i put them in wrong, i will have to have pettit take the engine out and fix my mistake), but i WILL attempt to install them anyway, yes Any chance i could modify the pettit heat shield a bit so that the Koyo radiator will fit?

It would work, but you'd have to make an extra pipe.

like jetlag said... you do not have to cut the reinforcement bar. only the fiberglass bumper structure.

as for the pettit heat shield fitting... good luck! I HIGHLY DOUBT IT WILL FIT, but if you can get it to work much porps to you.

if you relocate the battery somewhere not inside your engine bay, i dont think you'll have any problems with the koyo radiator. if you have the miata battery in the stock location it might/might not fit. itll be real real tight.
