I know the 6 ports are opening all the way up, because I put a wire tie on the actuator and it moved to the top. I don't know when they are opening up. Maybe I should go for RPM activation?

There seems to be a pattern forming. Everyone who dyno's there n/a thinks it should put out more power than it does. (Including myself). However, very soon I will have some secret "Pineapple Juice" (Kinda like Rikkis secret sauce, but made by Rob) that will allow me to break the 200rwhp mark! Then I will put the smack down on every n/a Rx-7 out there!! All of you will bow down at my feet, saying "Impressive, is CJs car!" Ahh, yes....the day is near!

If you go to the first page, 3rd reply down, of this thread, I've given a basic run down of what I have that put me at 167rwhp. Actually, that was when i had working 6 ports. Now, i've removed all the different rods associated with the 6 port system. So i should be at the 170+ area now. I've often thought about having it dyno'd with a open exaust. (header only). Just to see how much hp is lost.
What i would realy like to do, is put a single exaust on my car then have it dyno'd again. This way I could put an end to the dual vs single debate. (I think that dual true duel flows better) Much like Von has to the race pipe vs header debate.
I should have the P.J. project finished within 2 months or so. Then maybe after that, some nitrous to put the smack down on some 3rd gen owners!

I think each car is different when it comes to a/f ratios. My car made peak power at a extemely lean 14.25 to 1.
As far as the 200rwhp mark, I'm %100 positive no one will make much more than 180ish rwhp with the stock airflow meter/ecu, without any nitrous. Even thats on a dyno jet, not a mustang, wich I like to use. On a mustang, I doubt anyone will be much over 170rwhp. I recently had my FC dyno'd again, and posted about it. I can dig it up, if somone wants.
As far as the nitrous, its been completed and ran a couple bottles through the car. At first, I was running a 75 shot with some detination. So backed the timing down about 6 degrees (3 more than what i thought was safe.), and still got some ping. Threw in some B10EGV spark plugs (I usually use 9s in L and T.) and was still getting some ping around 7,500+. I said hell with it, threw some B11EGVs in it, and It ran great. But it would start to foul the plugs out when it was cold, and when I did alot of stop and go driving. So I backed the 75 shot down to a 50 shot, and run the B10s. All seems well now. BTW, I was using 93 ocatane. Future plans are to put it back on the dyno with a wide ban, and run a 150shot. Rob@Pineapple says the motor should hold a 200 shot if I have the fuel to go with it. I don't know If i need that much power for my daily driver or not. But it would be fun to take to the track.

This is a dyno of my peripheral engine a long time ago. The numbers are not exact. I had two tachs in my pu at the time. (3 counting the stock one.) One was the SDS efi system, and the 2nd was an autometer 11k rpm one. Bolth said i was spinning the motor to 10k on the lower runs, and 11k rpms on the higher run. For some reason the dyno did'nt agree. Everyone that did the dyno day had the same problem as me. This just did'nt happen to me and the club once, but two different dyno days, a year apart. So, I guess we'll never know the exact numbers....but these are pretty close. CJ

Nice PP runs CJ. I'm surprised the power isn't up higher in RPMs. Seems like its right because the HP & TQ lines cross around 5252 (+-500rpm ).

if rwhp is 180, what would your hp be @ the flywheel?
(just needed to know approx. how much hp is lost from the flywheel to the wheels of an n/a).
also just picked up a complete 90 n/a. Will be doing a complete conversion in a 1st gen gslse.
project plans are: (stock 160fwhp 140torque)
- extrude honing(not streetporting) intake manifold and motor intake/exhaust ports
- pineapple racing 6port racing sleeves
- slightly bored out throttle body
- apex cone airfilter
- se fuel injectors
- rb header (2to1) into a 2 1/2" exhaust with a bonez hiflo cat
- lightweight underdrive pullies
- wolf engine management
anyone have any thoughts about potential hp/torque #'s both fwhp and rwhp w/ this project? thanx, this is just something I've been wanting to put together for a speedy 1st gen n/a roadster.
(just needed to know approx. how much hp is lost from the flywheel to the wheels of an n/a).

I honestly believe that .....
that you have a legit chance at 200 rwhp if not more. so that works out to be what? uhhh 235-240 ish flywheel. I wanna try the wolf too.
