I gave my shoulder a rest last night and tonight is "boys night out" which means I will be partying. Friday looks like the next attempt so cross your fingers
And Big you just remember that Banzai has a great point. You guys sell more radioactive materials in ANY given .5 seconds than we have found in Iraq in six months and we pre-emptively kicked their *** over it! (we ain't found what "it" is yet but we will make sure some shows up before our next election here if we have to put it there are own damn selves! )
If Dubya ever figures out you guys are selling "WMD's" you guys are in trouble!

There is a law in Canada which bans the sale of tritium for military purposes.

It collapsed right where the ***** would be.
The pucks that would go with the bend may work. I would have to oil them good and use a really strong cable because the pucks would probably be in a pretty good bind. It would probably require a cable ratchet to pull them back out.
As the pics show this is still not going well. It will make me appreciate it that much more when I do get it to work I guess
This just keeps getting more interesting

Which is why I design Gloveboxes to process it. We don't make the BOMB, we make the bomb BIGGER!

This rocks Scalliwag. I love seeing you building your own machines.
At work the fabricators use 6061 to build the oil and water systems. I see them "torching" the sheets to get them workable. They do this to hammer form some very complex 3D shapes for end tanks and such. They also use "NS4" aluminum we bring over from the UK. It is soft and nice to work with.
Your tube supplier should be able to sell you 6061 tube in the annealed condition. Also, this site may be of some interest to you.

Damn Billy where have you been?!?!?!?! That link even has a forum! http://www.tubenet.org.uk/infobbs.html
I am busy working on some stuff in the garage and just came in to check email and get a breather and saw this.
I am going to post questions and show my setup and maybe some of the pros there will take time to give me some guidance with this.
If there is some pre-fabbed inside mandrels that would solve my problems I would be happy.
Hell I may even find some of the answers on that forum already.
Again another person here has been a big help I'm sure it looks funny when I post a project and my naiveness (is that a word ) comes through immediately but the help that comes through makes some of he critisizm worthwhile (you should see some PM's )
Once it is finished others can go straight into building a working unit without going through the headaches also.
So I am off to the garage but I am hitting that forum tonight.
Thanks again Billy! Looks like I owe you beer if you get out this way too!

One of the links at the site Billy posted was a place called Omni-X. They sell machines and mandrels.
Their website is very impressive. They have some interesting articles and videos for troubleshooting, etc.
The only bitch is that to get pricing you have to sign up and get a password. That would not be a problem except that you don't get the damn password until after the first business day.
So that kinda leaves my *** danging in the wind wondering how much their shiney ****** cost
http://www.omnibend.com/scripts/omni_tools.asp
The forum does not get much activity and most of the questions that I saw had no replies so that part did not look real promising.
Going by what I have happening and what I am reading and seeing (including what some here have said all along) my problem is that I need a good thin-wall mandrel.
I pick up my REPU today!!!!(it's a rotary pickup for those unfamiliar with the term ) It will not be near as high speed a project as the AE was but maybe in 6 months it can be the "featured car" It is getting a pport put in it.
I will post a thread and first pics later. Right now the bender takes precedence and the repu will get worked on during downtime... which will at least be until after the first business day at least

I didn't know about that one. I just did a search and found it. Damn the truck is somewhere here in Ft. Worth.
The one I am getting is over an hour away BUT it is being given to me!
I can barely get away with bringing it home so the one on Ebay ain't gonna happen So far that is a great deal.
If one of you out-of-towners want to get that I know a guy that hauls cars all over the country. There are three days left on it and it is only at $250 right now.
