This calls for the oxygen to be set at 30psi and acetylene at 15psi. Damn I had them at 20 and 10 going by the gun recommendation. No wonder it was giving me ****. The nozzle distance calls for 2.5" which is closer than I ran it.
The guns I have seen set up at the metallizing shops that were doing my housings were at about 6" or so spraying worn shafts that were spun on a lathe.
Hmmmm I have a lot to learn

are you sure 15? thats WAY up there for Acetylene. IIRC I thought it self combusts(IE: explodes) around 15 17psi

I'm positive, read the PDF I linked to the material specs. Remember this is not a cutting torch and is set up to flow a lot more volume. I know the "redline" on the acetylene gauge is right at 15 so they definately try to push the envelope there.
Hell with this thing cranked at 10 ace/20 oxy it is intense. It should really be a sight with another 30% increase on the gases.
I am going to inspect my check valves to be sure that I don't have a flashback to the tank

yea after i posted I re-read it.. it is 15psi. But its funny we just went over this in my chem class. When Acetylene is compressed more than 15psi period it will decompose rapidly(nice way to say boom), the reason it is stored at hundreds of psi is the acetone in the tank the acetylene mixes with. I wouldnt worry too much, if the company says 15psi, the are liable for the results, although none should happen other than one happy Scalliwag

no really i talked to my friend with some turbose laying around and he said you can have em if you payshipping if you want to test your turbo idea out. the turbare shot and will not creat boost but if you spin the fan it will suck in air if you turn it fast enough..it has plenty of play for it not to be worth a penny. i can take some pics if you want to see it before paying shipping on it as the whole trubo setup is not light. hope this helps....he has two of em if you want both
