He's full of rubbish, Apex does make some products that I would not buy.. but alot of their stuff is very good. Granted their gauges are junk IMO, and I don't like their fmic.. but their intakes, exhausts, and basic stuff is very good. And lets not forget the PowerFC, a great product IMO for many reasons.. I would stay away from their wastegates and BOV's as well though.

Anyway just like the others said, each company has their strengths. I have yet to hear an HKS part be a total piece of **** (Air filters dont count, sure it's dirty, but it works just like it's supposed to).

Nope they arent all the same company....
I would agree with Mahjik, they all have their strong and weak points... Just depends on what your looking for... I dont use any Trust/greddy electrical products, I use a lot of their mechanical stuff... Between Apexi, HKS, and Trust I would have to say I have the least amount of problems with my HKS and Trust products not to say Apexi is bad, just I think HKS and Trust are more reliable.....

From selling that stuff everyday I can say that Apexi is by far more popular than the others. HKS products are usually designed better and a higher quality, although you pay for it.

Super Newbie
The HKS catback on my car is probably 10 years old, but it still works like brand new. And save some dings from a PO, it looks about new as well. Mike (j9fd3s) used to have it on his car before the 20B.

My 2¢...
HKS - overprice; there are a lot of other products available that give you comparable performance for less money; the new HKS AFR is an exception - maybe HKS is finally trying to be price competitive?
GReddy - very good products; some of the highest consumer-grade parts quality in the industry; prices seem to be somewhat semi-fixed.
A'PEXi - this company WAS started from a group of HKS R&D engineers who got tired of working at HKS; their philosophy is build products like HKS does but at a better price, period; a lot of their products target HKS line-up directly; A'PEXi has kinda lost it's control of pricing due to heavy discounters (opposite of GReddy), therefore you can find street pricing very NICE for their products (good for consumers); the A'PEXi quality seem to be a "step down" from the HKS and GReddy stuff, but calling their stuff "junk" or "garbage" is rather extreme, IMO.

the only real difference for most of the products between; hks, greddy, and apex'i for me is the way they treat thier customers and how available stuff is.

I don't buy HKS products b/c I feel that they're overpriced.
I have some greddy electrical products on my R1--I've had the turbo timer for 3 and a half yrs, the Profec B for 2 years, and boost and a/f gauge for 6 months. They all work perfectly and I'm very happy with them.

Apex'i builds some awesome pieces like the PFC and their Intake setups while I feel HKS is a more rounded company with almost every part being very high quality but no real exceptional pieces as well as no poorly designed pieces.
Priceing is all about the same with some companies selling certain parts cheaper than the others while charging more for another part.
Blitz on the other hand is generally always more expensive then the other 3 companies, I don't know why though.
But for the question about HKS vs. Greddy. It'a a tie. I guess it depends on whose stickers you want to cover your car with, riceboys. Yeah, they sponsored you, sure!
