Question FMIC Installs -- How the heck do they fit up front?!

I looked at a few FMIC cores, and they seem to measure about 11" tall... Then i went outside and measured the cavity behind the front bumper of my car. How the heck do you guys squeeze an FMIC up there?!

Are they angled similarly to the radiator in an FD?, or do you just push the coolant / AC / Oil lines out of the way and clear out some of the other stuff?

Utterly bewildered...

Whoops!

Some details might help!:
1990 N/A FC, converting to a TII
Looking @ XS-Engineering's intercoolers

How much does installing a FMIC raise oil / coolant temps (City Street-driven in Southern California)

Thanks!,

you modify things in the front to make it fit, you hack the bumper reinforcer etc etc etc, either you want an intercooler that big and you make it fit or you go for a smaller intercooler

Bumper reinforcement?

I hear about cutting out the bumper reinforcement frequently when referring to FMIC installs -- what exactly is it?

Thanks!

the reinforcer is a large metal "bracket" i suppose you could call it which is right in behind the front nose panel, it helps hold the nose panel in its correct shape

I dont think they are for sale yet. this was sent as test fit for US cars.
I know they are going to change the core as this core is not effecent.
I would look for them to go one sale in mid jan to feb.

that is from what I have heard but could be longer until they get the right core setup.

The core doesn't look special, but the routing of the piping is good. I changed the piping on my 2nd gen Greddy IC so that it would run that way.
