Finally ran my 10...
WOOHOO!!!
What a great feeling!!
Testing on Friday had the car run an 11.06 @ 128 on low boost and soft 1.6 60ft. Over the course of the day the boost was turned up and tyre pressure wound down and the ETs dropped accordingly with the best time on Friday being a 10.5006 @ 133mph.
On the Saturday the day started with a 10.5 @ 131 and I couldn't seem to beat 10.5. I must have 7 or 8 slips with 10.5 on them! lol! Then we dropped the tyre pressure to 7psi and I did a much bigger burnout. The result was a 1.49 60ft, 6.69 @ 106mph to half track and 10.32 @ 133 mph result! When I got back to the pits everyone was smiling so I knew I did well, but not 10.32 well!!
I went straight back around to have another go and did an even bigger burnout. The 60ft was the same but the car was nearly a tenth quicker to half track but I missed 4th gear!? I still managed to roll through for a 10.6 @ 128!
Datalogs on the the last pass showed max boost was 28psi but only at the very top of 3rd gear. Average boost was 26psi. The turbo takes a long time to get up onto boost which will be looked at in the future.
Anyway, I am in an internet cafe because my home internet is down. I will post timeslip details tonight and hopefully have some photos too

Wow that's awesome! I bet you could see a 9 simply with thoroughly iced IC, intake, etc, and some perfect driving. Do you lift at all during shifts? It can drop your times quite a bit if you don't. Congrats

rev - Yeah I lifted during gear changes which caused alot of boost to drop off, as much as 14psi which then took a few thousand RPM to pick up to 26psi+ which slowed me down for sure.
Ito - Yeah mate, it felt great!!
Anthony - Yeah it was great to catch up! The coils didn't miss a beat all weekend Plans for 9s? Don't know what you are talking about
And I forgot to add, the car, with me in it, tipped the scales at 2940lbs...

Drag - Its a stocker Check www.ajc13b.com. Best run on street tyres is an 11.8 @ 118mph. Was also on pump fuel. Since I have run my best ET on slicks, I will head back to the track on street tyres and see if I can get a low 11 out of it in street trim.

Very nice run
I havent been in the 11's much less the 10's since I sold my 84 MonteSS Big Block car back in 91 after I got married. Should have kept the car and lost the fiance, but hind sight is always 20/20.

Well done mate!
I noticed your car at Mazsport last week before all you guys went down to Melbourne for the weekend.
I've got to say, I've always admired your car for it's simplicity (not the flashiest looking thing - but the wheels set it off), and I love series 3's too!
Hopefully I can come for a cruise with a few of you guys when I get mine going.
Cheers.

The pics came out well from FullBoost. So did Lang's too, hundreds to choose from he he he
I believe setting the flat-shift or maybe even anti-lag on gearchange with full throttle might see a 4 or 5 th drop. The only hard part is the testing, which is not easy without private track time. Maybe a lift to 30psi for a run or two should rive a high 9 from the car. 9.9 would be good but a 9.8 will hammer it home. Maybe a look at reducing some weight too. Must be something else in the car that can be removed.
Getting some new stickers in a few days, have to update your old one ! ;-)

Congrats Steve.
THere are heaps of other quality pics and vids on FullBOOST - click here
I reckon there is a good 20-30kg (40-70lb) that could be saved.... even before the car is looked at!
Its a real pity that it's, what, a 10 hour drive to that track from your city! Otherwise a 9sec pass might have been sooner than later.
There were a few other notable performances, including a guy called Lance who drove his 1st gen there for his first ever drag meet - and ran (I think) an 11.1! (13bt, 9" diff) . Apparently he's hooked !
