Catrol GTX 20W-50 good or bad
I live in the New England and winter is coming and all we have is cool to cold weather like. Is the 20W-50 vescosity appropriate for this time of the year. Or should I go with less thicker oil like 10W-40. I was switching to the castrol GTX 20W-50 for a change, so what are your thoughts on this.

do NOT go with 10-40! I read something about how there's some funny property of 10-40 that is BAD.
I've run GTX 20/50 in my n/a for quite a while... runs like a charm.

Castrol is the best!!!
Drop to a 10W30 for winter if you don't have a heated garage, 20W50 is better for above 45' start.
Don't ever use 10w40... too many additives to get that viscosity split, which means higher ash content, lower zinc content, and higher/faster carbon build up.

i'd go with 10-30 castrol gtx all year long. I never put 20-50 in my car, although i used it on my supra with no ill effects. 20-50 is good for the summer. I would use thin oil for the winter so that it can warm up quicker and lubricate quicker. Just my advice.
