Not for an FD it isn't although lots of people fall for that one test without considering the proper context and margin of error.

The problem with this poll is that everyone is pretty much going to pick the intake they have on their RX-7. It will be hard for you or anyone to pick the best intake, however, at least you will get an idea.

Oh, if anyone ever plans on upgrading their stock ic with an aftermarket unit be careful because some of these intakes will not work with an upgraded ic. The cold air intake systems are the ones you have to watch out for, however, it's not all the cold air intake system.

I think RE Amemiya's and GReddy's intakes are outstanding intakes to increase hp. Also, Dave from KD Rotary thinks so too, just thought you guys might want to know.

Also, Import Tuner did a dyno run on two FD's with two different intake systems. I can't remember the results, however, I'll look it up.

*I didn't see all the post, it's just too long for me. Sorry, if someone already said all the things I said already.

The best intake that I have seen in terms of fit and looks has to be the Tri-point Cold intake box.........

rotary reliability and racing makes an intake setup similar to pettits but the craftsmanship is better. I think they can be found on www.rotaryracing.com

the m2 unit is my favorite...by far...great craftsmanship...great looks.

I have the pettit and it is butt friggen ugly cheap *** craftsmanship. It works.

could the apexi unit be positioned any better for sucking HOT AIR coming off the turbos and exhaust? no way would i use that or the hks setup. I wont use anything without a heat sheild as intake temps are the nasty at high boost.

j

that racing beat duct is still restrictive compared to the m2 or others...i gave mine to toadman when i got the pettit.

I have the newer CF M2 cold air box, very poor quality the intake flanges are too close too each other so its a Bitch to install the intake hoses ,plus the smaller hoses also are too close to the intakes and I have too forced them on.The two K/N filters are to close to each other so its a pain to install them tight. I expected better for the $400 + I payed.

im with "the glass man", i dont like the foam type. i have never owned one, but there have been way to many bad experience stories around. i mean the fact that they sell just the foam tells me they fall apart anyway....

but i guess it's all personal prefference
