I looked at the ones Sanchez got and there was not anything that really stood out. The corner seals are matched and numbered to the main seals and they indicate it is very important not to mix them. Other than that they looked to me like an unpolished stainless steel. I did not weigh them but just being used to holding a seal they were more on the heavy side which makes me think they used a nickel based alloy. But that is just speculation.
I did not try the "magnet" test which would tell alot about the composition obviously.

Interesting . .
And they were designed for airplane rotary engine conversions, so reliability is priority 1 in that application. I could understand if they wanted to make them out of a relatively heavy alloy if it were more chip resistant than flame hardened cast iron (stock 3 piece). I think the aircraft rotary conversions operate at about 6k rpm continuous takeoff rpm and about 4.5-5k for cruise, so no high rpm revving usually takes place.

Rounded. Mine were matched with etched numbers, too. They came with springs and looked fine to me; they also fit the rotors very well with factory new clearance.

They do look and feel very nice. The price is crazy *** low.
I want to get a few sets because I tink the price only goes up from here especially if they are even as good, let alone better than stock seals. I have bet more money on longer odds than that

It is my understanding they have not been using these seals in aircraft as of yet. I think they are simply selling them cheap and testing them in cars first. The price may increase some in the future if they are a success.

Go figure I had this whole writeup about scalliwag and his reference to my brother and the apex seals. Well as it turns out there are two David Sanchez's that have purchased these seals. My brother plans to install them next month if all goes well. He also is planning to make it a high horsepower vehicle in the attempts to match my power with the help of Rolo from Central Florida Turbo. CFT We will let you know what the results are after some testing and tuning.

Haha! This is some funny ****! Scalliwag a salesman?!?! FYI there is another David Sanchez in this world (what are the odds? )
So if you were trying to keep this a secret that sucks.
The David I know and consider one of my best friends is in this picture after he won the innaugaral NHRA Import All-Motor class in 2001. And Steve, Rich, Ihor (the Gotham gang) are all friends. If you would have asked Steve he could have told you we are the proud owners of our own "David Sanchez" His brother Victor has a NHRA trophy too.
Your name ain't Victor is it? Now that would really be weird. Sorry but I got a real good laugh at this. You thought I was scamming? Wow....

I don't know who scalliwag is but I don't know how you can say that you have seen David's seals when they arrived directly to my house. I ordered the seals for my brother and received them myself. David, himself, has yet to see them. I just thought I would make the comment since you might seem like a salesman for the part saying that you would buy a few before they went down in price. I haven't even told Steven Kan, who I have called personally to get info on rotaries since we are good friends. Actually, besides me the only other person that I believe knows is Rolo from Central Florida Turbo CFT who is aiding in the project. I am not saying that these are bad seals but I don't want the wrong information going around. These seals have yet to be proven in a high horsepowered rotary. Once we get them in we will let the community know how they turn out. I am sure that my brother will be trying to match my horsepower...good luck bro

He also wants to know when Gotham is going to sponsor him?
He got a good laugh too. David wants to know if they are Puerto Rican too? I told him they were Swedish! These poor guys must've thought I had some pretty big-*** ***** to be talking about them like that!

It was funny . But as you have noticed I did some research and found out that there is indeed another David Sanchez out there . Go figure. But I corrected myself before your post scalliwag. But it is funny though. Good deal. My brother, David, is Puerto Rican too. But he drives a third gen. Well doesn't yet because of the engine build. Later.

"Our" David has the GLC in that picture, a '90 vert that has a T-II conversion, a gold 1st gen with a T-II conversion, and a Toyota Corolla with a 12a. within the last year he sold a 3rd gen with a full-cage and an RX3 with a full tube frame and a rotary pickup.
He is pretty hardcore.
Here is a pic I took at NOPI this year just before the tranny broke
The big question now is "who will get these seals in motor and post results here first?"
Rich said that Alex did not use Ihor's set in his car so scratch that from the list.
Will your brother's car be a daily driver?
#42
Yes my brother intends to drive the car daily. He lives in GA since he is in the USAF but drives down constantly to Orlando. So this is the car in which he intends to do so. He has always wanted a 3rd gen and was finally able to purchase one with a blown engine. He expects his car to be done by the end of Dec., but I am more realistic and expect it to be done by the end of Jan due to all of the parts involved (ie. big turbo, fuel, clutch etc.) But either way, it looks like he will get his car running before I get mine up and running again with the twin setup that I have instored for it.

I put these seals on a scale and they are lighter than
stock, not by much, i think it was .2 or .5 of a gram
and someone else said that one they had touched
was showing a little rust so i don't think they
are stainless .
