Another 4 rotor build
#352
So my old chassi is sort of sold now. Have not gotten a payment yet, as the person buying the car is still out at sea working. He will come pick it up within 4 weeks. So by that time i will take out the engine and all the special parts for the 4 rotor. And drop in a almost stock 13b in the car.
Will be sad to see the car go, but was getting too expensive and dangerous to keep a registerd race car here in norway.
So a new cheap chassi will be bought during the winter time. But will be along project to get right, as i have some other priorities when it comes to money now.
More info will come on the new project as soon as it's here.

well it will go into a rx7 chassi that will be havy modified. where alot of things will be replaced by tube frame. So the project will most likely tak 2 years to complete. If i don't get any big sponsors that is.
A kit car would be nice, but would cost a fortune to buy. A FD chassi is quite cheap to buy. And i want to build with the RE-Amemiya GT300 kit they use now. To make the car identical except for the color.

So i started on removing the engine on saturday. Glad i did not drive the car more. As the air filter had moved inside the box and it was not stopping dust and other stuff getting into the engine. And i had dust and oil on the runner 3 and 4. Im not too worried as the engine starts easy. So going to do a compression test before the engine goes out.
Now i got about 3 weeks untill i deliver the car off, and get the new one in the house
So in about a 4 weeks time i hope to have started on the new project, wich involves alot of metal to be removed and tube framing to be added, and a real 2009 GT300 body kitt to be used
My goal is to get the car to weigh in at betweeen 1000-1100 kg And get the engine to produce about 700hp. And to get it to be insane fast on the track. Will go full slicks for next year. If i finnish next year that is.

you better get that sucker turning at more than 8300rpm though!

So we did a compression check on the engine this weekend before the engine goes out of the car. With a cold engine and low battery voltage we messured and average og 4.8-5kg on all 4 rotors and on all faces. It was completly even on the same rotor, and it was between 4.8-5kg of compression on all 4. The rpms did not go over 160, and stayed between 135-160 while cranking.
And we had above 6 kg of compression this spring after 45 minutes or so of running. But this was at about 220 rpms of cranking. So the seals seams to be holding up quite good.
The only thing i noticed is that there is alot of oil resedue in the intake runners. Im guessing this is due to the PP ports and overlap.
The engine and transmission should be out of the car this weekend. And hopefully it's picked up in the next few weeks.

After beeing inspired by a few other ppl here on the forum, and having a dream about building a 4 rotor for a few years the oppertunity arrived. I decided to sell my 13b-rew BP engine and got a decent price for it with everything. So that prompted a 4 rotor project.
The engine will be put in my S6 Re-Amemiya GT300 Wide Body Race car. It will be a natrurally Aspirated engine producing arround 600rwhp and have a redline at 9000 rpm. It will have a Liberty Gears/Tremec TKO600 dogbox as well.

Can't wait to see the pics of this car. My friends here in Gardena, Ca. just build a 4 rotor for their Time Attack RX8 and they were able to get 600HP @ 6,000 RPM on a N/A P-Port. Unfortunatly tuning that beast has proven though because the cops keep coming over everytime they try to dyno it. Car sounds sick though!!!Good Luck hope to hear more about your project in the days and months to come.

Also Jantore, great build, we know how painful and expensive this build can be!

thanks sarah
Hopefully i can build a new car that will have the same standards as your rx8 Im going to use pictures of the revolution RX7 from japan to build my new car. Plans are to go just as extreme as they have. And remove alot of weight
Hopefully i can get ahold of the same body kit in carbon fiber

Yes i have a freind that has some footage from this summer. But he's hard to get ahold of. And do not have alot of time to get it out. Im trying to get him to make a raw video for me so that i can edit it my self. But difficult.
The car is anyway beeing sold of for a new FD project with the 4 rotor. So expect to se a new thread within the next 3 months or so
And expect a semi tube frame FD that weighs around 1000kg
