AEM uego? 4th sensor in 1 year
Hey guys I got a quick question...
I have the aem uego gauge and sensor unit installed in my 87 fc3s. I have had a problem with burning the sensors out. My mounting place is all the way down the down pipe about 8 inches from where the cat is bolted.
I have it in a good position far from the direct heat of the turbo and motor, but still burn the sensors out. I have heard that the bosch sensors which it uses cannot hold up to the rotory heat and thats the problem..
So here is the question.. Can i buy one of the ngk ntk sensors and maybe cut and reattach the wires from the bosch sensor onto the ngk sensor? Do you think it would work? I have bought 4 sensors in the past 10 months, and at $63 a pop im going broke..
Any help would be great..
Thanks
Neal

Works like a charm for me and also quite a few people that i know use it with great results.

i am using AEM uego for a long time (almost since they started to sell it) on my and many customers cars.. Never had any issues.. Usually I install sensors right after the turbo in the downpipe. There is no difference in exhaust temperature between rotary or any other engine, combusion temps are same. Just length of the manifold could matter.
