Your 340 hp FD, while no doubt a fast car, does not pull on sport bikes. I'm sorry, but it simply doesn't.
You do not run 10's in the 1/4mi.
You do not hang with gixxer thou's.That's just bullshit.
You can post that you pull sporbikes if you want, In fact I wouldnt expect anything less from a bad *** drifter who can barely drive.
Go watch some vids of 600cbrs pulling 600HP Kenne bell mustangs (search for these in the kills section) Then get back with me.
I'm not saying I like to go around racing ricers like yourself on the highway.
I just think it's amusing when people who have no idea what the **** they're talking about make up stories about hanging with thousand cc sport bikes on the internet.

You have papers to prove you run 10's????
That's pretty impressive for someone who starts threads asking how to drive their own car!
I bet once you learn how to slip your clutch you'll run 8's
You're halarious.

Any RX-7 however will win against anything. That's why RX-7s are not allowed to race in Top Fuel Dragster.

holy crap drift7, THANK YOU.
i've been feeling down recently, i needed a laugh.
have you ever touched a real sport bike? you hung with that gsxr1000 only because he didn't realize you wanted to race.
seeing as how my #1 hobby is roadracing motorcycles and my father has a 454 approx. 500horse vette, i feel i may have some authority to speak.
i promise you, his gsxr600 would probably walk the vette, have fun with your hoses, all 340 of them, God you're sooooooooooooo cool.
here's a question, when does 120 equal 650? when comparing horsepower to acceleration levels on 2 to 4 wheels, last i checked your cage only had about 340 horse, but alex DOES have 120 on that scooter. you're about 300 ponies off son.

absolutely no way a 340hp FD can hang with a Liter class Bike (1000cc). stock gixxer 1000s with the perfect rider can run ~9.80 1/4! i personally own a 01' ZX9R which are supposed to BARELY break into the 9s at like a 9.98 1/4 time. i personally havent tracked my bike cause it scares the **** out of me. ive owned 300+hp cars and there is absolutely no way they could have even come close to a 1000cc bike. i cant speak for the 600cc class bikes cause ive never ridden one. but ive ridden gixxer 750s, gixxer 1ks and my zx9r. theres no comparison.
My ZX9R weighs around 475lbs and puts down about 135whp.
Gixxers probably weigh a hair less than the zx9r and put down about 140whp depending on the year.
Your FD weighs around 2600-2700lbs? and puts down 340whp.
Do the math...The power to weight ratio isnt even close!
i call Bullsh!t...

For what it's worth, I have a 94 FD with 340hp at the wheels, and I have an 02 R6 track bike with 100hp at the wheel, a little weight reduction and a gearing change. My R6 will undoubtedly outrun my RX-7 in a straight line scenario.

As much as I love this guy getting owned.
He hasn't been on this forum in over seven months.
Must be bussy slipping his clutch on 'busa's for pinks..................

I think that most people who have beaten bikes on the street are generally speaking of your pre 2000 (actually 1998) models, this time was a huge milestone on the superbike era as far as performance is concerned:
1. Most manufacturers (with the exeption of Suzuki and Ducatti) were still running carbs.
2. Most manufacturers started significantly reducing the weight of their bikes (ie 1998 Yamaha R1).
3. These post 98' liter bikes were now putting out over 130hp and your 600's were over the 100hp mark.
The combination of these three changes made for a much better power to weight ratio making these bikes real monsters. Tha being said I highly that with a "decent" rider a 340hp Rx -7 will be able to beat a post 2k 600 and definately not a 1000 unless the rider is a total clutz.

Hey xtremess93 I also owned a 9R. That thing was a monster and actually it was still carburated (the 98'model) but still had some serious *****. I tracked it and ran a low 11sec. pass my first time at the track ever. I'm sure if I kept practicing I could have brought it down to low 10's. I raced a 10th anniversary FC back in the day that had very close to 500hp and beat him on three different roll-ons. The driver was a very good driver and could not believe it because he had beaten many bikes on that car, again this was back in the late 90's.

well to help stray from all the bullshit...
ive got an S5 fc with a 6 puck. how would u recommend coming off the line. since slipping is apparently off limits, wat am i supposed to do? hold ~4k (lightweight flywheel) and drop the clutch? doesnt sound right to me.

I can't really give advice on this, because it all happens without my thinking about it. The feet just "do their thing", if you know what I mean.
About all I try to do is get just a bit of wheel spin. The highest amount of takeoff traction will be obtained with just a slight amount of wheel spin, per the book "How to make your car handle".

my car has ~230whp
did this twice before realizing how bad it is on the drivetrain
put into 2nd, rev to 6500, dump the clutch, holy sh*t the sound! if the car bogs, clutch kick the **** out of it until it starts going sideways. Not the fastest way to start nor the safest, no advantages at all, just pure fun.
