Heel/Toe question????

Just in the short amount of driving I've done in the Turbo II, I can't figure out how to heel and toe the thing.

I've got narrow feet so I can't grab the gas with the outside of my foot....and I'm 6'6 so my legs won't permit me to kick the gas with my heel as my leg is already resting against the steering wheel.

Any other tall FC owners out there???

I know us tall FD owners have the same problem. I added a pedal extension to the accelerator of my car and it helped a lot. Anyone make something similar for the FC?

Get pedal covers - this really helps.
In fact, my brake and my gas pedals are so close now, anyone else driving my FC complains about hitting both at the same time.

cool, thanks. I'll hit Pep Boys and see if I can find a decent pedal cover that isn't too "bling"

is the accel pedal not angled? i've only sat in an FC once but didn't notice the pedal distance. i've got an FD and don't have a problem cuz the accel pedal is angled down towards the the brake. lemme know.

I do it everyday because I'm used to it. So when it comes to lapping the track doing it is second nature.

Is there a tilt lever on all of the FDs? If there is where is it?

He said he found the tilt lever in an FC. From what i know, FD's dont have a tilt steering wheel. Sucks.

Hi, we're Mazda! We *know* where your steering wheel should be! ;-)

(unless you're taller than 6 feet, that is....)

when i drove my friends 240 heel toe wasnt a problem. well that might be because of the nardi steering wheel he has in it but in the fc i use the edges of my foot. but i also drive barefoot in the fc. dont ask why

Whoops I'm blind haha.... That sucks
I think I might solve the problem by getting one of those half steering wheels if you understand what I'm saying...

Typically called a "d-shape" steering wheel.

I do find it difficult to heel toe in my FC. The pedals are too close to one another and the accelerator right against the center tunnel. Has anyone moved the pedals to a wider position?

That's usually opposite of what everyone else wants.

i have a ser3 (1984) and don't have a problem heal&toeing. makes life a bit easier on the gearbox. not sure if i'm doing it right though, i brake with my toe and tap the gas with my heal. also cause my car is right hand drive i dont have to worry about the tunnel getting in the way.

oh i don't have the stock wheel i have a smaller one out of a ser 6.

I'm vaguely trying to figure out if I can heel-toe with my left foot; I've become kind of convinced that left foot braking is quite a bit of help on the 3rd gear section (most of it) of the local track.

... what? It *seems* logical... I have yet to decide whether it's actually a stupid idea or not though.
