Speedsource Rx8 On Speedvision
Got my RX7 Tuner mag this week, read about the Speedsource's yellow RX8 #70, and there it is right now on Speedvision, at the Round 1 Daytona 250.
I watched it go into the lead passing an RSX into a hairpin, then just blast off passed the BMW M3 into the lead on the back straight. That was impressive.
Then the frikkin' thing had an "ecu problem" which required Haskell to shut the engine off and restart it as he coasted the straight at 100+ mph. That was impressive, too. But not in a terribly positive way.
Sylvain Tremblay did a pre-canned tour of the car, trying to draw some comparison between the car and what the average guy might buy at the dealership. That was funny. I wonder, does it come stock with a big red "ECU RESET" button on the dash?
Don't mean to offend you RX8 guys. But I still don't get the RX8. I'm trying. If it wins today, I may begin to be swayed in its favor.

Damn, #70 just dropped out of the race while in the lead.
Tremblay just claimed that perhaps a piece of debris on the track cracked the radiator.
Hmmmm.
