Rotary Amuse CF stereo deletion panel

Rotary Amuse CF stereo deletion panel
I figured it is easier to pull things out of the car then to lose weight (I'm not a big guy, but every pound counts; and unfortunately good beers aren't always the best for you); and since I stripped my Bose Acoustic Wave System and Door Speakers years ago, the stereo has been long overdue for pulling.
Pretty simple: pull the stereo, measure it up, and cut. Well, being somewhat of a perfectionist, I measured, trimmed, test fit, rinsed and repeated for a good 3 hours with cardboard before my friend and I took a table saw to the carbon fiber.
The factory Bose double din stereo weighed 6.7lbs together. The Rotary Amuse CF stereo deletion panel weighs 55grams (0.121 pounds!) When every little bit counts, the weight savings are incredible!
I have enough carbon fiber to make another one if anyone is interested and I am considering doing a group buy in carbon fiber.
Here are the pics:
Measure a lot, trim, test fit, and cut once.

Anyone interested in one, please PM me and I will look into starting a group buy. If you want the dimensions of the template, PM me.

Nice setup. I did something similar for my FC. I just took advantage of the space and put some switches and my boost controller. I bought the carbon fiber sheet on Ebay. I also took out the Logicon and put the radio instead.

Thanks Shainiac. Its a RX-8 5 speed ****. From what I am reading, it is from a 4port Standard RENESIS 5 speed RX-8 (210hp.)
ismaelruiz- awesome set up for both the digital dash and stereo deletion. I like the switches and boot controller. I am going that route eventually with some switches and a battery kill switch. This is just stage one for now.

Oliver- Of course, it is. Why do you think I bought the RX-7? Probably the same reason you did.
I signed up for a track day 3 weeks ago and the event was this past saturday. I have been moving a mile a minute trying to get the car set up between work, the garage, sleep, and some food if i was lucky ever since I have registerd. I have lost a few pounds. (Note- I'm 6'0 at 165; pretty good shape as it is. I'd run a lot more if it would bring me faster times.)
The only stereo I need is the twin turbos, twin rotors playing the symphony my right foot orchestrates. Better then any song, period.
