My preference order by manufacturer:

Stand21
Sparco
OMP
MOMO
Simpson
The rest...

Get one with gusseted arms if it's within your budget. Increases freedom of movement and lowers arm fatigue a fraction.

You are in Garner, eh?

I would not buy safety gear via mail-order, but that's my opinion...at least not your first set of safety gear...

Go to cvproducts.com and visit their showroom in Thomasville which is a few minutes south of Greensboro and you can try some on and have some one fit you correctly. Alternately, there are Simpson stores in Charlotte or the store at VIR in Milton, NC.

Yeah, it's Danville (to give you VA residents proper credit)...
...but it's Milton (where we get gas for the racecar and frequent Millie's Pizza) if you are a road racing NC resident.

I've spent way too much time and money at that facility and in Danville "proper" for my own good.

It's not *in* Danville, unless Danville extended their city limits by around 10 miles.

Which they well could have, but it's not marked that way on any maps I have seen.

The contact information given on the VIR webpage gives Alton as their mailing address.

Just nit picking. :-)

I have the GForce that I got from racerpartswholesale that I use when racing my Rotax kart. It works very well. My team mate flipped wearing the same suit and it held up well with extremely little abrasion.

Some dumb *** newbie decided to go try making a bonsai move at the end of the main straight going into turn one and they both flipped.

Good suit.

Just to clarify, karting suits are not rated/tested the same as road-race and aren't accepted by auto racing groups...G-Force is a good brand...

Basically, if you want to see all the manufactures in the SFI program who make racing suits look here:
http://www.sfifoundation.com
(click on manufacturers and scroll to 3.2A)

Most organizations now also accept FIA...

Question Mazdaspeed FIA approved suit ?

Hi.

I hope you'll bare with me for using this tread..

I am looking for a set of either 2 or 4 mazda racing suits.

As I understand, Mazda of North america support racers trough a program were you get cheap parts, etc. I am not in USA, so I can't join, but if they are selling suits with Mazda on them, could someone please post or PM me the partnumber, and price? I am asking Mazda here in Norway for sponsorship, but I need the layout (partnumber/price/picture) to make it easier on them for a positive answer.

The suit will have to comply with FIA standards.

If anyone has any other good markers to suits with Mazda on them, please let me know (-even used ones are of interest).

Have a nice day

You can buy MAZDA patches etc through Maxdaspeed. As far as Mazda suits, they would be custom, and designed by each team. If you search the old IMSA pictures, I am sure you could find pictures, give those to a shop that embroiders race suits, and you are there. Carl

I have been a member of the Mazda support program for about 10 years now, and I do not ever remember them offering any kind of SFI or FIA or any sort of racing flame retardant suit. Carl is right, all they offer is patches and decals.
