this should maybe even be its own thread, but we tried both of our gauges vs ron@aim tires gauge and the one we normally use was 2.5psi HIGH....
we've been tuning based on how the car feels, so it wasn't a huge deal, but we were NOT running 35psi!
also this last weekend was 95-104F depending, and the Hoosiers didn't like it, you wanna start with lower PSI

Wow, old thread. I'm back into auto-xing and running the same setup as listed above with the exception of running the Hoosier A6, 245/45/16.
I've been running 31-32psi all around, just a touch of understeer, I feel like I can put the power down in most places but in fast corners the front will push just a bit w/o throttle.
Any recommendations on pressures for the A6?

Just this weekend I was having a tire pressure discussion with a casual competitor (not my class but we still race each other). He runs ~40 front and rear in his Mitsubishi Evo, and he is very fast (beat me last weekend)
His point was that the wide tires need more pressure than you might expect to keep enough pressure on the center of the tire for it to make contact.
We tried running a few pounds more, starting out at 30 PSI cold all the way around. The car felt good, but we thought it should be faster, so I dropped 2 PSI all around, running 31/30. My codriver immediately took .75 second off his time.
I've previously run them at 28/27 front/rear with good results as well.
We are going to National Tour in two weeks, so I will get out the pyrometer. I would have used it last weekend, but the time between runs was too short to spend the time needed to get good readings.
BTW, you will have to see if you can get that record back from me.
