very very nice!! all these 20b builds make me want to ditch my RE and do a 20b instead with a PP with major itb's!

I used sheet metal first, but it was abit more heavy then the lexan and it made so much more noise. So i decided to go with the lexan instead.

And it looks good as well How much is the ATL fuel cell?

Check the budget before you make that decision, these 20b's can be expensive! btw I already received my itb's I'll post pics of those next week.

can you show more pics and give some details on the side exhaust setup, I have always been curious about that and may do it to my car in the future, but hard to do when i like to put in pass. seat and give rides/instrust with my race car :-)

Did you see page 3 Post# 72, that post shows several pictures of the interior with the exhaust. I haven't started any of the tin work just yet, but I can almost guarantee with the exhaust exiting in front of the rear wheel you shouldn't be able to have a passenger. Unless of course you can handle the noise level of no muffler, then you could dump it behind the front wheel.

are you concerned about the db limit? For my race car ( https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=775283car ) Im VERY concerned about the noise.

EVERY PP 20b race car ive seen runs the HUGE mfr lava rock muffler. I dont think yours will cut the mustard.

Yes I'm concerned, the races I've been attending have been pretty laxxed about the noise level, but if I ever attend an scca event I'll have to turn down the tip to try and minimize the sound level.

From my experience it just depends who you run with...SCCA is super strict about it, even in my first races as a novice years ago I got disqualified from my first races for being 1db over the sound limit.

NASA doesn't seem to care and I actually can't find any reference to sound in their CCR last time I looked.

Im concerned that I wont make the dB limit for Laguna Seca. The tracks back east are more lax then the ones out west?

Well Laguna is always going to be an exception regardless which sanctioning body you run with. No other track out west has any sound restrictions like that which I am aware of.

They only have one sound booth and you can easily beat it though your lap times will suffer. Simply lifting off the throttle at the last second before you go by the booth and wait a bit before getting back on it. You can push how close to the booth you are before getting back on the throttle since you usually get 2-3 warnings before they boot you.
Pointing the tip(s) to the drivers side (away from the sound booth) is better than pointing it at the ground.

yea, db limits are out west just matters who and where. Laguna is bad, its cold, and the booth is on the outside of 5 right when u start going up the hill. its not usually a problem when ur racing high powered cars, but in sm's...... infineon is in the middle of the open part between 11, scca gives out warnings, nasa doesn't. at thunderhill its a free for all, but in the 25 hour they are limited to 96db

Well, Rob and I have been talking and have decided to move the motor before we go any further. We've already started the process and have the motor sitting on top of a bunch of wood. Since we're already moving we've decided to go all the way and are lining up the front plug with the front axle. The exhaust will need just a little tweaking but not a big deal. I think a little more work now will pay off later.

not sure how to answer that, but if it helps the front spark plug is inline with the front spindle.

how many inches did you move it? where was the motor before the plug was lined up with the spindle?
