I have never had any work done by him, but he has been around for a very very long time and has a faithful client following. His shop is clean and charges top dollar. I don't think that you can be in business as long as he has been... charge what he charges and not be quiality

He worked on my boy's car and he did a tip-top job, but his price's are REALLY up there! I met him once and didn't get a real amicable feel from him, too business oriented for me... no real character. Money talks, I guess...

Oh! and if your car is registered in Cali, don't even think of getting real performance mods done there. He goes strictly by the book.

Agreed. He is a no mod guy. I only took my cars there before I had to smog them to make sure all was good. He will also do ONLY what you ask of him. So be detailed about the problem you are looking to fix. He is pricy, but worth the cash IMO.

Yeah, I heard nothing but good things about him too. I think all Rotary shops in CA are pricey though. It just depends on what you want.

Rick's is the only place i trust with my rx7. one of the best and most recomended place to take your 7 to. Took my car to him plenty of times and the quality is amazing. Well worth the money!

I don't know where you guys go but Rick charges less per hour than most dealers. He is a perfectionist. If you get to know him, he is a great and friendly guy. I can't imagine taking my car anywhere else.

As far as mods go....Rick will handle stuff that is not illegal (no midpipes or single turbo installs).

I don't consider independent shops dealers, therefore i do not compare the two...

Glad to hear good things about him.

So his engine rebuilding is top notch too?

Does he only use 3mm seals?

Engine building is one of his specialties. He usually does recommend 3mm seals for performance applications or high mileage rotors. The thing to keep in mind is that Rick does not do "budget" rebuilds. Other builders will build to a budget, reusing rotor housings, etc, which Rick does not do.

If you are in CT, there are some good people and shops closer to you.
