have you guys ever bought any cars from Kurt Robertson?

Just wanted to know if anyone has bought any cars or maybe parts from Kurt Robertson from Mollala. Reason I am asking is because he is advertising a 1974 RX4 out on the S.Calif. Craigslist. Just wanted to know if anyone has had any dealings with him. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Doesn't seem like the happiest fellow, but who am I to judge.

He was sitting on his roof, scowling at every car that drove by on Saturday....

(Haha I should explain, my friends parents live next to him, they were having a massive 150 person party, and he wasn't to happy about it.)

I only met him once years ago. I am not a fan of his methods of fixing cars (only brand new OEM parts or dont bother me). I believe I have seen the car you are referring to. He has quite the junk yard behind his house.

*I just read that post* Wow. He does not have a warehouse, he has a small 20x40 shop, half of which is a chapel. You read right, he is a preacher. I have been told he is completely nuts, I have never seen or heard from people who have been there about 100's of parts, ect. It sounds like BS...

Thanks for the replies! I might hold off on the trigger on buying the RX4. I don't know the guy and I don't want to judge him either, but i just have a gut feeling about it. The main thing is that I am in N. Calif and I don't want to take any crazy chances. He wants to sell the a non running RX4 with a bp 13b for $5K or with a running 12a or even the 12a in it plus the extra 13b for $5500. I was planning on driving it back to Cal, but its too risky IMO. I don't want to get stuck out in the middle of nowhere. Plus he wants me to deposit $3500 to him and he will put the 12a in there and the $2000 when I see him at PDX. I just don't feel all comfy giving a complete stranger $3500 let alone even $100 to reserve a car.

I use to know Kurt, well I guess I still know him. I had always thought of him as a friendly pretty strait forward guy. but recently I've heard alot of iffy things about him and he never returns my calls for parts. Plus he was going to wayyy overcharge me for the part I was looking to buy. But Kurt has hooked me up with several Jobs. So I don't want to badmouth him, but I may refrain from doing any business with him. I think he just has too much on his plate to run his rotary business. He's a school teacher, minister, welding inspector, and has his rotary business

ROLF at him sitting on his roof scowling at people. thats classic.

Is this the forum version of the 10 years ago challenge that's going around on instagram?

Also, an account made to just make one post, hyping up and individual, seems more than suspicious.

0 on customer service

I recently been looking for a REPU project, and subsequently contacted him via website search and phone. After his initial sales experience information; conversation, which I honestly must of misunderstood the price. I followed with an update phone call; where he was very unprofessional to say the least, even after I replied that I must of had misunderstood the initial mentioned price. After I told him he doesn’t need to talk to me in that manner, he hung up the phone on me. IMHO being 60 y.o.a. & a business owner is irrelevant to treat anyone (even possible customers) that way. Thank you!

The reason I only posted one message is because I thought this was rx8 club but before I left the site u saw the original post asking about Kurt Robertson any way this is not bogus post or anything fraudulent my post is exactly what it is these are facts about Kurt and everything said is exactly as stated I perceive that there was probably some kinda miscommunication but that's why the only post from me but heres the logical next post also remember not everybody is compatible business associates some people just don't get along.

Why not just offer the man a certain price and tow the car home and get it done locally? You will learn that in any industry when you ask a question about a certain individual/business you will always hear the bad right away, whether it's true, exaggerated or a lie.

If you don't want to give a stranger any $ for something you want to purchase, don't do it and move on. Imagine is every transaction here had a thread asking questions about the seller?

I know this thread was brought back from the dead, but you're quoting a near 10 year old post there.
