? for the Wideband to Datalogit users

Do you guys get the actual wideband number displaying in the Datalogit or do you get some wierd number that you must translate into the wideband figure?

I'm talkabout the 11:1, 12:1 figure. Just curious because I've seen a few spreadsheets, and their wideband numbers seemed like nothing that would be displayed by a standalone wideband unit.

You can log and monitor data in both raw voltage, and AFR numbers. If you see a number that's between 0-5 that's raw voltage.. It's then up to a polynomial or linear function (that you provide depending on the unit you're using) to convert that raw voltage into an AFR style numbers.

So then it all depends on the Wideband unit?
If it only sends raw voltage, then I have to convert it. I'm assuming the conversion takes place after I stick the file in an Excel spreadsheet.

But if it sends actual data, then the datalogit will be able to interpret it?

The datalogit shows the AFR #'s for each cell of the fuel map. It will show you Max, Min, Avg etc. You can also monitor them in real time and have a line chart drawn of the logged runs. Very cool!

You don't have to convert it necessarilly.. you configure the datalogit software with a formula to take the raw voltage and churn out AFRs.

If you're talking about using the excel spreadsheet that's floating around to help you tune.. it asks you to import a log file, converts the raw voltage and makes calculations off of it. I don't import log files.. It's easier to copy AFRs from the map watch into the spreadsheet and make calculations from there. Much faster, and you can weed out the oddball cell values directly within the map watch now..

Ohh!!! Ok then.
If Datalogit lets you do that from within, then yes, that IS very cool!

Well, I guess I'm gonna start hunting for the right wide band to get and pick up a datalogit. Got the laptop ready and waiting

Unless you guys want to just spit out the one I should get I've read some good things about the Tech Edge unit. From what I know so far, I gotta make sure I use a Bosch Sensor.

I bought the TE WB 2.0 that uses the Bosch 6066 O2 Sensor($28.99) Works great!

The TE unit is very accurate as against high end units.

Here is a clip from the owner/developer of TE

"we got ourselves an ETAS LA4 Lambda meter for testing and calibration against. I can report that I'm very pleased with the accuracy of our WBo2. We found our calculated AFR was the same as, or within 0.1 AFR, of the new ETAS unit across the range of AFR=10.3 (the
minimum the ETAS would read) to 23.0"

I have purchased and installed 3 of the TE WBs and they work very well.
