Why -35 boost at power on?

When I turn the key to the on position, it reads -35. Shouldn't it read 0? Does this affect the reading throughout the RPMs. Plus I have the boost set up like it is in the book and I select # 2, But the most boost I get is .65. Do I have to up the duty %? Shouldn't it self learn, and work towords .80 like it's set?

Any takers?

The -35 reflects the effect of your actual altitude above sea level (the higher the altitude the more negative the pressure). At sea level the PFC should read O. If you want to change the PFC to reflect ambient pressure, adjust the offset until the pressure reads 0.

Does it make everything else read low too? ex: instead of .80 it would read .50 or is it .77?

you need a datalogit to adjust the offset.

You need to get your units of measure straight. When the PFC is reporting vacuum (below zero), it's in mmHg. When reporting boost (above zero), it's in kg/cm². 35 mmHg is about 0.047 kg/cm², so if boost was set at 0.80 you could expect to see about 0.753 kg/cm² if the same offest holds true throughout the boost range.

I've adjusted my offset to zero at key-on with the datalogit, and peak boost still rarely reaches what I have it set at, nor does it match my Apexi boost gauge. There are lots of things that affect boost though.
