Weird PFC Commander problem???
This morning I drove to work and everything was fine. However, at lunch when I started the car the commander was frozen on the opening Apex graphic. On the way home, about twenty minutes, it was still frozen on that screen, and none of the buttons would work. As soon as I pulled into the subdivision, it switched over to the normal four channel setting I leave it on.
I'm wondering what could have caused this? This was the first warm/humid day here in Mississippi and I've only had the PFC for a few months. Could the liquid crystals be affected by the heat? The car ran just fine so I assume the ECU is functioning properly.

It's been documented before - it's a loose wire inside the commander itself. Do a search on commander frozen or the like - I think it's a brown wire inside the commander that pulls loose.

My money is on the circular connector between the commander and the Power FC. It WILL vibrate loose from time to time. I have achieved good success with strategically placed rubber bands slipped around the wire end of the connector and then the rest of the rubber bands stretched around the body of the Power FC. By arranging the bands just right above the connector, the bands provide great inward pressure on the connection.

It was just the connection....
Thank God. It wasn't very loose, but just enough to cause problems. Next time I won't jump to worst case scenarios, but you tend to worry when it's a $1300 toy. Thanks for the help!
