Tach signal
I am trying to get the RPM converter that came with my LM1 to work. There is suppose to be a wire coming off the ecu that the tachometer uses to get your RPMs from, aka tach signal.Does anybody know which wire this is?I have tried using there supplied inductive clamp around a sparkplug lead but, the signal has too much noise in it to be of any use. Thanks,
Philip

where
Chuck do you know what colorcode this wire is and which plug on the ecu its on?
There are two wires leading to the coils, one wire is smaller than the other, could I get a signal off the smaller one?I'm thinking the small wire is used as the trigger to fire the coil.Is this reasoning correct?
Thanks,

You can look it up in a one of the online Mazda Service manuals. In SECTION F in the rear where the wiring diagrams are. Some of these you can download to your PC for easier reference.
I do not memorize such finite details, and would have to look it up myself when I get home.
Happy hunting.
