I don't know man, it looks ok to me... it's tapering pretty good already. It may go rich at high rpms if you add too much more fuel. Remember you are still on stock turbos. You'll have to do some logs to see though. You don't know the exact VE curve of your engine yet.

I got it tuned good for AFR. Problem is I still have not hit 10s yet at the track, and been running low 11s for 3 to 4 years now. best run yesterday was 11.23 @ 120. although it was my only good run, even with a good 1.53 60 ft. I want to advance my timing more and I am thinking my leading timing map is too conservative and I can get some more power with more advancing, I retarded the timing more than the already conservative base map for my rebuilt engine with mild streetport, please see my map in this thread. I used to get faster trap speeds on my old motor with the base timing maps. I am looking for some good thoughts and suggestions for my timing maps. split was changed to 12 all across the high boost rows. thanks!

I would think you could add sum timing in the dip you have around 6000rpm.

That's what I was thinking. So I created new timing maps, please check them out in the file attached. The first attachment has the new maps, One of the dat files shows my new leading map and trailing split map, I changed both maps. The other dat file shows my new leading map and for the trailing map I inserted the PFC base leading map in there so when you look at the split you see the difference between my new leading map and the base leading map that comes in the PFC (I also changed the 50s to 38s in the top right corner of the map, so its a slightly modified version of the base leading map). I created these maps with the help of researching about timing on the forum and Chucks maps at http://opus.bloomcounty.org/~patrick...brook&SCALE=US

Let me know what you guys think please. I'm hoping this will help make more power compared to the maps I was running which you can see in the 2nd zip file attached. Thanks.

And when I look at this map I believe from Steve Kan - https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...4&d=1100627433, my map still looks conservative. And after reading this thread at (https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...t=split&page=4), it should be safe to even run that map in my car.

You are in a situation where you are wondering about the additional gain you get from adding a certain amount of timing. On an FD the only real way to measure that is to put it on a dyno. You can try doing a more 1/4 mile runs but given how much they can vary I think you would get an inconclusive answer.

As for the safety aspect, the PFC has no knock control. So it comes down to your risk tolerance. Your leading map on the surface isn't aggressive for your setup but many would consider the 8 split area pushing it. You are reducing the safety margin by advancing the timing. The question is, does the increase in performance outweigh the reduction in the safety margin? From my experience only a dyno can help you make that decision. But how many people here really have experience running 21psi on stock twins with straight pump gas? According to conventional rules of thumb you should have blown even your new engine up by now...

Ya I may try to get to the dyno soon. I am just trying to make some timing adjustments and looking for opinions on them, and trying to finally hit 10s and only have two weeks till the end of the season, and want to do it now in the colder weather. I am thinking my old motor may have made more power and better trap speeds cause the timing was a little more advanced and less split timing, and it lasted a fairly long time for that setup. I only run the high boost when its cool out and the afrs are good and timing not aggressive so thats probably why it dont blow up haha.

I made some more timing map changes, the 8 split high boost rows were raised to 10, and I retarded the timing a little (compared to the last timing map I uploaded) and I'll use this new map for 93 pump gas (this map is very close to the PFC base leading map), already tested it out and it feels good.

And I will use the last timing map I uploaded (with a little more advanced leading timing, still not too aggressive, with the 8 split raised to 10) and I was thinking I should only run this map with Sunoco 260 GT 100 octane unleaded race gas at the track this weekend with 20-22psi boost, and I should start lowering the high boost on the pump gas down to below 18psi.

See maps attached. I didn't have time to make it to a dyno but I hope to at least see a gain at the track this weekend with the more advanced timing map with the race gas. Of course I know there is lots of variables such as driving, wind, weight, temp., etc, but I hope it helps. Maybe I'll try to get to a dyno next week.

If you've got 100 octane it should be fine.

Cool thanks. Pittsburgh raceway park just decided to shut down and not run the last two test n tunes so now I'm pretty bummed about that. I wanted to go down to the imports vs domestics in MD but don't have a truck and trailer and wouldn't want to break anything 5 hours away.
