Simple PFC questions
Hi,
I am going to get a PFC soon have a few questions:
1. What version number should I make sure I have?
2. I have searched but want to double check. I got a DP, mid section and free flow exhaust and Cold air box mod. (All on a '94 Japanese RHD Type R2) Can I :
a. up the boost to 12psi straight away?
b. add an intercooler leave it at 10psi?
c. add an IC and up the boost to 12psi?
all the above on a base map. (Until I get the Datalogit and wideband)
3. I am reading about base maps and mod maps. What map will be on the unit if it is brand new. Can I just plug it in?
Thanks, all the help is appreciated.

If the FC is untuned, you'll either be on the base stock, or base mod map by default, depending on the version of the FC you get. I dont' know the specifics about which versions have what.
I would be very cautious about running full intake/exhaust setup like you have with 12psi just because of the potential for creep. Other guys in this forum will likely be able to shed light on your other questions.

Hi,
I am guessing Base mod will have an increased fuelling curve compared to base stock. I amconcerned that I will install the unit and be on base stock. Does this mean I could purchase a unit, let's say V5.08, and it could be EITHER set to Base stock or base mod? That sounds worrying.
About the boost creep. You are right. I forgot to mention that I have been advised to fit a proper boost controller to limit the spiking, and machine out the wastegate to reduce the creep.
Thanks for the input
