Rich or lean?
Ok just to be clear, if not using the airpump, then turning off the O2 Idle Control switch will achieve richer idle? and will it be richer only at idle or slightly richer at higher rpm's as well ?
Also the Commander's instruction man. states that the ideal AFR is 14.57:1, so if you are running say...12.5:1 is that safer yet or more dangerous?

That 14.7 A/F ratio is the IDEAL A/F ratio for perfect combustion. For a turboed rotary, you will want to run an A/F ratio of 11:1 or so at full boost. You can lean it out for less boost and vacuum situations. If you do a wideband dyno run with the stock ecu, you will see how the stock ecu controls the A/F ratios. It will start at 13 or 14:1 at low rpm and lower to below 10:1 once the secondary kicks in.
