Revs effect speed readout???
Hi All
Right installed my brand new apexi pfc on my 93 JDM spec FD3s today. Got it all put in had it learn the idel all worked fine.
The problem is that the speed on the controller and on the speedo are registering with it standing ,they appear to be registering of the rpm . Basically at a stand still you rev the engine and the speedo acts like a rev conter kind of. I read a post the other day that someone else here had the same problem.
I have tried the usual stuff looking for stray wiring in the loom / connector but that all looks fine. Switched back to the stock ecu and theres no problem at all so it is deffo to do with the apexi.
Couldent find this covered anywhere else, if this is covered elsewhere my apoligies.
Any help would be appreciated.

I am having the same problem. The car indicates 26kph at an idle then as I rev the engine in neutral the indicated speed goes up. The odometer is also counting the miles as the car sits still at an idle.

How many of you are using a JDM or non-US harness or gauge cluster? Curious...
Is the tach. working also? expect not.
On the ECM pin 1M is ECM input from the speedometer CPU feeding vehicle speed to the ECM.
On the ECM pin 2B is ECM output to both the gauge cluster and Data Link Conector pin IG (this is the tach. output)
Test - put a test tachometer on pin IG of the Data Link Connector and start engine. If it is reading the engine's RPM then the wire harness to the ECM is correct and there is most likely an issue with the gauge cluster's CPU or the harness to the cluster.

Sorry if I bring this post to life again. I am just having the same exact problem and I am clueless.Purchased the PFC brand new and I am refusing to accept the fact that it is bad one. Tried searching the forums for the same problem, but to no results or no legit solution. Any help is highly appreciated. Thank you.
