Looks Great S/F.. I'm courios to see how you will be mounting your controls, but so far the monitor looks like it is nice and visible.

Thanks again ... the monitor is very visable even during the day. I might move it to the other side of the DIN opening and do some A/B comparisons for visability and viewing angle. I still don't have the controls flushed in yet. I've had some transmisison problems if you've seen my post in the 3rd gen forum. I have to get the car running again, before I have time to "play". I'll get some pictures up later.

Very Cool Spyfish!

While I was fooling w/ the controls lastnight (after my install) I thought of doin the exact same thing! Funny how some of us gadget hounds think alike. I even popped out my ashtray sticking the whole console in there to see if it fit! And it pretty much did to my surpise. Have you given it any thought to place the keypad right next to the screen instead of the ashtray? I'd hate the screens changing on my by accidental hits w/ the elbow.
Just an idea.

Gdluck.......and get some updated pics when u can!

Yeah it is funny how people like us all think alike sometimes. I know longer have the PowerFC, but the keypad beside the unit would be a good idea. I might do this conversion for someone else so that might be an option.

I just got in from a drive.......another thought might be moving the LCD all the way to the right side and if you go w/ the keypad up there, put that to the left of the screen. I noticed while I was driving w/ ur hands on 10 & 2 ur right forearm blocks the leftside of the stereo cutout blocking ur view. Food for thought.

Did you go Haltech?

haha .. yeah on top DIN the screen is blocked by your arm on the left side. On the bottom DIN the screen is blocked by the shifter on the right side .... I tried all four combinations. I did finally go Haltech .... no more commander for me.
