Power FC questions
these are newbie questions so bear with me
if i have a japanese spec powerfc of an older model can i update the software to the latest version?
How would i update my software to the latest version?
what are the differences between powerfc versions?
is powerfc capible of creating a new base map for an engine that is not supported?
can powerfc support an engine not listed?
if powerfc can be tuned to run a non supported engine how hard is creating the start map and the base map?
is it easier than doing so with haltech?
anybody know where i can get a basemap for a toyota 4age engine?
anybody have any ideas on how to make a harness to connect powerfc to a unsupported engine/harness?
how are new maps loaded into powerfc?
can a laptop be used to interface with powerfc?
if not any idea if apex is going to provide this functionallity?
thank you for your time.

Because of the first 6 questions, you better call Apexi.
These are manufactorer questions, not user questions.
Appears you need another system as it would be less trouble than do all you want in way of changing the software.

i dunno i've seen quite a few vehicles in magazines running powerfc on a non supported engine. They made good power.
i've been doing some more reading and it seems as though with a little fine tuning the powerfc can be setup to run on any engine that closely resembles a currently supported engine.
apexi just needs more US support for their product.
since powerfc's commander is in english i guess a software update isn't nessessary unless problems arise.![Big Grin](https://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
i dunno once i get one we'll see how it goes.

Yes, but what you are missing is the original PFC hardware/software combination. Maybe one for a Honda might be able to work on a similar engined car.
You would have to get a PFC originally created for and engine as close as posible as you want to control.
Being that you are asking in an RX-7 forum, is not logically the best place for your questions. Very few American owners have replaced their rotory engines with a different one.
Try so hot rodding/engine swapping forum or companies.
We basically talk rotories here.
