Power FC help please!!!
First: if this needs to be moved please do so.
Here is the run down bought my power fc about four years ago my car has been down so I never used it instead been letting my father use it in his lightly nodded cym. Well his car has been having some rough running issues so yesterday we started tinkering with it and noticed the commander would do nothing but display the apexi logo like on start up. So we just started checking spark plugs, ignition etc. We got it running a little more smooth the more little things we did (such as noticed the vacuum line fell off the boost sensor ) but it still wasn't 100% finally I told him im taking my pfc back just because im going to need it soon to use on my car. Once we switched him back to factory edu car stated running perfect. Which scares me to death. Does this mean my pfc is ruined? About two years ago he did get some water in engine from freak storm while vacationing in Wilmington but he pulled plugs turned engine and got all the water out and been running fine ever since. And said that no water got into the car. I just don't understand what could be wrong. The pfc was never turned or modified we ran it in his car because he wanted to used the commander to monitor the engine since he put his new engine in from japanese clip, and the temp gauge didn't work on his cluster. I don't know if im completely screwed, if someone can check this out, or do I have to buy a new one and scrap this one. And if its completely screwed why would it start and run the car just runs like crap and commander display stuck on apexi logo. Someone please help. Thank you for ANY insight. Also I did call apexi about the commander before I did the ecu change over and those guys are clueless and seems they have to send everything to japan for any info or repairs. Thanks.

I have read that the PFC has a somewhat common problem with a wire inside the commander breaking free that will cause it to be stuck on the Apexi screen. If you open it up and resolder the wire it will work again. As far as the running like crap idk if it would cause that as well or not.

I haven't been able to find anything with pics and don't have one my self or I'd do a pic run through of it for you but it sounds like an easy fix.
Unplug the commander, open it up, and check the solder joints on the wires coming in from the cord. Seems the culprit is a brown wire most times.
Hope that helps its the best I can come up with from my poking around.

UPDATE:
So after hooking my PFc to another FD, its reading a constant 1.2bar. and Commander stuck. SOOOOOO called Apexi, spoke with Keith (really kool guy). After conversation we decided for me to send them my PFC and Commander. I did so Keith then Bench tested and confirmed the exact same thing i found. Next step: Shipping PFC to Japan, 2 months turn around time.
The pros:
Apexi is really taking care of me, and backing there product BIG time. Apex taking care of all the logistics
The Cons:
To be fixed the PFC has to be "fixed" in Jap-Land, which is a 2 month turn around time.
But i have to say as far as Apexi really stepping up to the plate to take care of a customer I am impressed.
Stay tunedto see how this process turns out.
