power fc gurus i need help!
hello all,
i did the all data init, turned off o2, idle learn and retarded timing as per this link- HOW TO: Make your untuned PFC basemap safer/idle better (no Datalogit needed)
i was successful- car idled fine, car sounded and ran good initially after the learning process so i went for a ride and fill up. however, the next day i start the car, it dies after a few seconds, im thinking its cause the engine is cold? furthermore, when the car is warm and stays on, when i start to drive, there are times where when rolling i lose throttle. the best way i can describe is that i will put down maybe 20% throttle then the throttle dies, like i lose gas, the car just rolls and then i try again after a few seconds and then the throttle comes back.
i have the banzai block off plate kit, no air pump, and i think i removed the isc as per block off plate kit.
can anyone help me? i have beer! trying to get my car running decently for dgrr as i am signed up and ready to go!
thanks, marlon from Atl

ordering wideband tomorrow. the throttle loss happens between 2-3rpm. happens on light throttle. havent pushed the car to find out if it will happen as im only on the base map. ugh...
furthermore, my idle sits at around 1k when warmed up. dont know if im missing anything... my car was running fine before the install as instructed by other threads to have car in tip top shape before installing pfc as a pfc will not fix a car, but will run worse...

also your idle
If you have your Idle air control still hooked up , you can adjust it to lower the RPM's . If you need more help PM me and I may be able to walk you through some quick thigns to try after I'm out of work.

after somemore research, as per dale clark's power fc faq, i am experiencing this-
2d. My car stalls and doesn’t run that well when cold with my new PowerFC. What’s
up?
The water temp correction settings the PowerFC comes with aren’t perfect for many
people. They need to be richened up. Bring the numbers up for the temps where you
notice stalling over a few days until you find the best spot to get the car to run well.
so, can anyone elaborate on this so i can try to get this taken care of? as of right now, i have put the stock ecu in until i can get more information

you need that wideband

hahaha. Since you removed the idle air controls(IAC) you will most likely have idle issues. If you play with the Water temp corrections, timmng and fuel maps you can get it to work( not die). Use the map trace and watch were it goes and what cells it uses, Change the settings in the cells it dies in.
Is the dash pot properly adjusted? Might help a little.

Like everyone else said, it's hard to know anything unless you have a wideband.I'd recommend you joining the yahoo tuning group, there seems to be quicker and more thorough PFC responses there. PM arghx if interested.
I feel your pain though, I'm trying to get mine tuned in time for DGRR but I don't know if it's going to happen

Bought wideband and datalogit. Waiting for atalogit to come in. In the meantime I put the stock ecu back in. I idle fine now but I get hesitation still under throttle. Like im missing. I did the fp rewire yesterday too. Think my plugs would cause me to miss? Not even on wot I happen to miss/hesitat. :/

Well, installed wideband and datalogit. Went with the innovate mtx-l. Redid the learning process, and worked good for about an hour then the throttle and idle problems returned. Yesterday I redid my vacuum lines so no leaks and also checked my tps and all values are within range now. So, this morning I try to relearn the idle but fml, idles for about 30 seconds then dies. Im stumped! Im not a retard, hell I worked on c130s for 5 yrs and countless cars :/ sorry gents for the rant.
