Power FC+Datalogit+$40=DYNO/DataLogLab

my 30 day free trial ends tomorrow so i sent in my $40 to own my own DYNO... er, DataLogLab.

i have made over 40 3rd gear pulls and have found it invaluable as to tuning. my rwhp has varied between 330 and 418 depending on timing, spark plugs and fuel. torque range has been 307 to 362. 14 psi and 93 octane. my motor is going flat around 6000 and there is alot of work to do to find the missing 125 hp.

along w my two digital egts, the "Dyno" has proved invaluable. i can't say that it is accurate relative to a real dyno but i can say that it provides a relative evaluation from one run to the next. all the correction factors are there BTW...

anyone seriously interested in making more hp should spend the $40 or go for the free 30 day trial.

Simple question

How the f8ck do you get it to work

I am not a computer person (hate the POS !) and downloaded the program got a log .txt file ofthe datlogit and is says it cant open up the file and there is no option for PFC type file description.

These *computer* people need to make this **** easier for mechanical/car type people like myself who cant/wont spend hours trying to **** around dowloading figuring out what files, add ons, descriptions and other crap you need to get a program to work.

My rant over, its not user friendly it needs to be more idiot proof and automated and made for us, dowload the (unt, open a file and bingo it works. For idiots like me and you or the vendors post up WTF is needed to get it to work form start to go so I can print of and idiot sheet thats easy to follow?

Anyway back out to tune another car !

I am a mainframe person and also thought setting up the dyno chart as being too fussy. If they refine it more and/or make a strickly RX-7 verson with simpler user data input, then I might purchase it.

The dyno chart is all that I would want it for as my DATALOGIT charts do fine for all my tuning. Thus the rest of the software is useless for me.

OFFER a dyno version only!

I also purchased it recently and have barely begun logging and playing with it, mostly been looking at some of my old logs. Even if it's not 100% accurate compared to a chassis dyno it seems like it would give a good baseline to analyze any changes to fuel/timing that I make. One comment I'd have is that my rwhp seems a tad on the low side if anything. I'd be curious to know how much tweeking you have done to the RX-7 car settings for the dyno function? Funny what this thing does to you though, I find myself checking the humidity when I get back from a tuning session.
