I received 5-pin the harness (PN #49C-A004) and it contains a connector and wires only for the Apexi map sensor (red, black, green) so the Apexi solenoid is definitely controlled through the stock factory harness on an FD. Presumably there is also a version of the 5-pin harness that also has a connector for the solenoid?
Will be a while before I can test this, however, because I have several other projects ongoing.

What were you hoping for - an additional solenoid connection with connector?
Surely a harness of this type mist exist - the 5 pins would not be needed otherwise?
It's possible that even though the FD uses the factory harness to drive the solenoid that it also drives the two pins on the boost contoller connector.

I'm betting there has to be a 5 pin harness with 5 wires and two connectors, one for the MAP sensor and one for a boost control solenoid--just because the PFC is available for many cars. My DL software came with a basemap for a B16 honda engine. It has an option for the boost control kit under settings 1, and you know that thing doesn't come with a factory boost control solenoid.

I imagine the other 2 pins do control the solenoid also, but for ease of wiring they just utilize the one built into the FD harness.
For someone that already has the 3 wire 5 pin harness it would be really easy to test out. simply hook up a multimeter to the 2 remaining pins and go for a drive. If it's controlling those pins it should cycle voltage. Probably 5 volts.
Or Arghx I bet you could figure out a way to get some wires on those pins to test yourself. One trick I have used in the past is to cut a length of wire, but not strip it back then push it onto the pin to make a connection. The pressure from the insulation helps hold it onto the pin. Sometimes pushing a small nail into the wire first helps create a path to prevent the pins from bending. I don't know if you would need the map sensor wires hooked up as well in order for it to work.. but it's worth a try without first. The remaining wires shouldn't matter how they are hooked up to a solenoid it will work either way.

It is a Molex connector of some sort (it has the marking MXJ) but does not look exactly like any on the ones linked to. I'll post more detailed pictures tomorrow.
However, if you look at the third picture in post #18 that you made in this thread it clearly shows a 5-pin connector with boost control and solenoid connectors. You should order that connector - if you can find it through the image.

alright i just jumped in and read this post i actualy jsut bought a fd so im new to this, and im going to be geting a pfc for it. i have a gizzmo ebc brand new in the box. it loks like from what ive read you can just use the solenoid fro mthe ebc and hard wire (soder) it to the wires from the fd harness. this would act as the harness you get from apexi and wire the map sensor in the same way. or you can simple run your own wires. why pay for a harness if your good at electrical work just do it yourself. i mean im going out on a limb here but wouldnt it do the same job, and if you are able to find the plug to go into the ecu it would be better. or you can pin each wire individualy you just need the diagram to do so. dont flam im new to this thats just my input please correct me if im wrong.

I am trying a different route guys. I am going to try and control boost using a factory FD wastegate solenoid. There is a decent chance it will work, as it is the same basic design as the FD boost control solenoid in "NC--Normally Closed" configuration. I have discussed the control logic of the Power FC's boost control system (basically an AVC-R) here: https://www.rx7club.com/power-fc-forum-47/pfc-wasgate-precontrol-710953/ Instead of having it hooked up as a vent solenoid after an internal wastegate actuator (like stock on the FD), it will be hooked up in-line to the top port of a Tial 44mm wastegate. Since I have an FC, I am going to insert an OEM connector pin into my adapter harness pin slot 4U.

Unfortunately, neither the stock precontrol/wastegate pigtails nor the Apexi boost control kit connectors have any manufacturer markings on them that I can find.

I am currently running a solid 15psi by using home depot parts to adapt the factory wastegate solenoid for external wastegate use. You do need to change a couple settings in your map with a Datalogit for it to work.
