Please help with first start of a t-78 install
The situation:
got everything installed...
tried to start car, low battery, car flooded, removed plugs and fuse, spun engine.
Got new plugs, installed.
Charged battery and jumper cabled to another car, just in case.
Car started.
I shut it off after 2 min to seal an exhaust leak (forgot the pipe on the side of the Cat)
Car wouldn't start.
It would sputter at about 500 rpm for about 1/2 second and then die. Sprayed starting fluid in the BOV hole, it started. I let it run about 15 min. Noticed the exhaust is slightly dark, but may be because of high flow cat. Shut it off and it wouldn't start again, but would start with starting fluid.
Is the car flooding or not getting enough fuel?
Here is the xls file with my base map, injector settings, and cranking times.
Please offer any advice.
Thanks
-Dave

New info:
Pulled front plugs, they were black, rear plugs were clean.
Does this sounds like the front plugs arn't firing?
What is the best way to check for spark?

Hold the ignition wire in your hand as your friend cranks the engine.
Most people would:
(1) pull injector relay or keep TPS at max while cranking
(2) pull plugs
(3) gound out the plug to the chassis or engine while ignition wire is connected to it.
(4) have some one crank engine while you look for a spark.
or
(1) use a timing light.
