Piggybacking GReddy's eManage Ultimate to existing PFC for the extra functions?
Hi guys,
I was wondering if it was possible to hookup a piggyback ECU to an already standalone ECU system that is lacking some functions (eg. no ignition cut with dangerous fuel cut, no dual mapping for race fuel etc)
The one that I was considering on was GReddy's eManage Ultimate. Would be only using its addon functions while carrying on letting powerfc control the mapping and all.
I already have powerfc installed and i threw my stock ecu into god knows where so I'm pretty much option limited as there are only two tuners LITERALLY in my little country that knows how to tune a rotary engine properly and both of them did not want to work with an ECU which has no base map as it was too time consuming. (lazy buggers :p)
Could I have some opinions?
Thanks!

The powerFC uses ignition cut for a rev limiter and a fuel cut for an overboost cut. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a fuel cut in an overboost scenario, it is the best way to do it, no fuel, no combustion, no detonation?
Getting rid of the fuel cut mentality comes from the old stock 2nd gen computers where it would cut fuel only on one bank to drop the boost. The PowerFC does not do this, it completely shuts off fuel on both banks.

Am I reading this right? You want to add a cheap *** piggyback ecu to a standalone that does everything you want to? WTF?

I think the rev limit is a hard fuel cut. That's not an issue though.
Exactly what functions are you looking for that the PFC doesn't have? Have you ever used an e-manage ultimate? It has fuel and timing compensation maps, which are a pain in the *** to use because you aren't directly entering in a particular.
Make a list of features you want that the PFC doesn't have. Rank them in importance. Then weigh your options--most likely you either get separate external controllers for these functions or you switch to someting like the AEM EMS or a Haltech Platinum Sport.
