since there are already 2 of this same thread
I was wondering about a couple of things now. I've had my PFC in for about 3 weeks now. I know I have to get get it tuned. I have everything I need to do my single coversion except the intercooler, injectors, and raidator. I'm doing this all my self, except the tuning part and I'm low on cash right now for a while and until I get all these parts. I guess what I'm getting to is how long can I run with it with out tuning?
MODS: DP, MP, CATBACK, INTAKE, FLYWHEEL AND CLTUCH and some other stuff that doesn't relate to performance.
The single is sitting in my room with the v-band DP, manifold, and wastegate until its ready for the swap.
Plus I'm shooting to getting it done in a year or less.

Uh Oh folks, he's about to blow!!!
Newbies and relative newbies-Please at least attempt to check the manual and the archives first (this means at least try to do some of your own research), it demonstrates your committment to owning a car that will soon take over your life, and also demonstrates respect to the forum members.

Remember;
(1) More than half of people you meet or communicate with are below average if you are above average.
(2) The newer generations of American youth are even less educated, and lazier than previous generations.
All thanks to our politically correct society where you are not responsible for your actions, and you do not need to learn. Just asked for all the anwers.

How can you say that the youth is less educated??
The youth of today is the technology of tomorrow. Education is easier to receive now days, and facts (in some cases) are much more accurate. This was not so back in the "golden days" you speak of.
And, how can anyone know the answer to something, without asking. Can you tell me what was so important about 1776 without relying on what you were told in grade school??? Were you there?
What we do today is take information passed on to us and lay it as a foundation to discover more, and educate ourselves more.
There is more knowledge of things today, and with the internet, it is easy to learn a vast amount of information in a short amount of time.
That is why these boards are here, and have enough people scouring for information to warrant sponsors, to pay the guy to make this forum available.
Maybe you should ask more questions.

Obviously the answer of a young person. Chuck's right. As a member of the "cross-over" generation, I have seen a huge degradation in the education of our society.
Just because the current generation MAY know more technical details, doesn't mean you are LEARNING more. Your response sums it up perfectly -- you bring up 1776. That's book knowledge and has nothing to do with LEARNING TO THINK, which was Chuck's point. When you get older and truly experience the real world, you will understand.

Ok, Mighty ones. You're all right. Thats what you want to hear right???
You are the types that re-invent the wheel over and over so you can feel good about yourselves.
I do agree with hard work, and educating yourself. However much "education" as you call it, is sitting in a class room and asking 1 guy a whole bunch of questions, and getting this one persons response. I would much rather find out on the internet what 1000 guys have to say about the subject, or better yet, experience myself after investigation. Then conclude my own answers.
Tell me one thing you know without asking questions and I will tell you how you lie.
Also, I am curious of what you speak of if you are not speaking of "book smarts"
It is always better to ask questions, and then proceed. I will always seek answers from the wise.
Thats why you old fogeys end up screwing yourselves over all of the time. Your stuck in the "old days".
I bet you still don't use maps either.

There is always some a**hole that wants to put people down for asking questions.
I have been using this forum for a while now, and I am sick of seeing it. Especially since the damn search on this forum works about 1/3rd of the time.
All I am saying is, If your are not going to help, keep your F**king mouths shut.
IT seems to me, the Oldy Goldys are they ones that need to "Learn how to think"..."Before they speak" that is.
By the way, I am 23 years old, an honors graduate and a College dropout. As well, I am a successful entreprenuer and Husband. I have been taking care of myself since I was 16. And 1 thing I have learned at my age is that Older people use there age as manipulation over Youngsters like myself. You oldies are always pissed when there is an easier way to do something.
What you don't realize is when something is easier to pick up, you move on to pick up MORE. Thus, educating yourself is easier, and faster than ever. No more hours in a library, just minutes on the internet. And if you forget....like you oldies often do....it is easy to find the info again.
Now go mix your mueslix with some soy milk and leave us alone.

If YOU truly experienced life, you would know that Edifying people is of utmost importance. Not putting them down.
Didn't you old farts listen to your mom when she said "if you can't say something nice.....then don't say anything at all"
A wise man, knows he is wise and doesn't boast. An unwise man tells the world how smart he is....where do you guys fall.

Fc1jz,
Sadly you are the exception to the society of today. You know as well as the people pointing out on this thread that the information the thread starter was looking for is readily available but rather than look for it himself he just asked and expected others to take their time to serve it to him.
This isn't really just a generation X issue either. I haven't been around forever but I'd be willing to guess that the percentages of people trying to get others to do their work has been the same throughout history.
The first thing you'd probably do if you bought a PFC is find the manual and read the whole thing (at least skim it so you know where to go look for stuff later). You'd also probably assume you could find answers to what the Commander displays in the manual along with a lot more helpful information.
Because of this had you started a thread after getting a PFC and searching around for an English manual (if you didn't find it) it would have probably looked something like:
-----------------------------------------------------------------
I've had this PFC for a while now and I've had a hard time finding documentation. I read through the forums and found a lot of stuff but I have a couple of questions. Does anyone know where I can find an English version of the manual? If there isn't an English version of the manual has somebody put up a FAQ that says what all of the abbreviations on the Commander screen stand for?
-----------------------------------------------------------------
99% of getting the answer you want to a question is the way you ask it.

Maybe you are right. I just am not the type to judge or be judged. I don't want to seem like a dick or anything. I just know, that if you want information, in this day and age, you can find it much easier than in the olden days. Whether it is asking questions, or refering to previously asked questions.
And yes, you are right, I did read the entire PFC manual when I bought my PFC a couple of months ago. But I still had many questions, and I still do today. And the only "proper" thing to do is ask questions to people with experience/knowledge, or experiment yourself (which could be very costly).
And yes, his above question has been answered many times, on the boards, in the manual ect. But every question that could be asked today, has probably been answered before. That does not make it wrong to ask.
Oh yeah, Sorry If I offended anyone.
