pfc help, car runs horrible past 4500rpm@10 psi

hi, i am trying to help a customer with his car and thought i would pick the brains of the crowds that knows them best..
fd 7, the mods are:
hi-flow fuel pump, hi-flow exhaust, non-sequential turbos, 1300 injectors, and s/m greddy intercooler.

here is the problem... with the base map (and with a map provided by michel..tuned by sr) the car runs horrible past around 4500rpm up. the boost seems to be around 10-12 psi. here is what has been done so far to the pfc:
the map changed to the above mentioned, the lag rates for the 1300's are set, the seq for the turbos are off, tried the pim on normal and #2(w/ no difference..only slightly rougher idle) . is thier anything i'm not doing?
any help is greatly appreciated. thanks, ron

Maybe your fuel pressure is dropping off. When I tuned my car, my fuel filter was clogged and the filter on the fuel pump was clogging the pump up also. Mine was acting up around 4500rpm also!

maybe it isn't detonation? maybe a very loud chirping noise. everytime under boost it does this? motor isn't blown yet.. so does this say it isn't detonation? i would think if it's a turbo problem it would just have a serious lack of power..not totally break-up and not run over 6500 rpm? ...surely map signal would prevent an overly rich condition? but, because i set the map will this override any manifold pressure signal? i ran the map tracer and it recorded ( on pim #2) a flat boost at around p17(10.9 psi) @ n9 to n16. now, my boost gauge only showed around 5psi? i suppose the pim setting reads the map psi differently due to the voltage difference? i have tuned several stand-alone systems and this is the first time really doing much with the pfc so, excust the ignorance. thanks again, ron.

So, the problem occured after you installed the new pump and filter or it just occured for no reason?

A customers car! Then you should have a datalogit and WB if you are trying to sucessfully tune. We need to know all engine mods and see the PFC-datalogit dat file.

Otherwise it is pure guesing.

(1) Verify that the coil harness is hooked up correctly, and that the plug wires also go the the correct plugs.

(2) Check fuel pressure at idle, 0 boost , and at lease 5psi boost to see if it conforms to Mazda standards.

(3) From your comments, it sounds like you are not experiened with the PFC. Check everthing in the PFC, each adjustable screen at a time to insure it is set up correctly. You have to run PIM MAP NORMAL!
