PFC as a boost controller

i am pretty sure that this has been beat to death as i have found a few threads but none that actually answered the question. for my next mod i plan on getting a PFC since my boost is getting out of control. i know that i will be able to boost higher(after fuel upgrades too) and would rather buy a new ECU then a new motor, again. i was browsing the apexi website to find that they claim the PFC has an optional boost controller kit. im sure that this will be extra but will this work in place of a seperate boost controller. i dont want to clutter up my whole dash with gauges. TIA guys

I was having nasty cold weather spike problems with an M2 stage 3 ECU. Adding a Dawes boost controller did not really help. Where I had cold air spikes to 17PSI with the M2 I never get more than 12PSI with the PFC set to control to 11.

These where all measured with an SPA boost gauge.

If the rest of your car is healty (no vacuum leaks) the PFC should do a good job for you.

I beleive what they mean is that the pfc without the boost option will work as long as you are keeping the boost reasonable eg <15psi

I was having problems holding boost under boost cut in cold weather. I'd have it set for .8 and I'd hit 1.05 no where near redline and hitting fuelcut in the process so it wasn't boost creep by 5500 rpms. Its similar to the old PFS PMC in that you have to tune it for cold weather as far as boost is concerned. Warm weather the things great, stable boost, perfect. just cold weather is a little bt of a problem...that might be addresses with the datalogit...maybe not.
