Oct 11 2008 Updated Base Maps
Hey guys, I posted up a link in another thread but thought I'd just make one here instead. I've updated some of my basemaps in the past few days. I zipped 'em up and uploaded 'em to my website. They fit a varying number of injector/engine combinations. They're available to the public and hopefully it can help some folks get their cars running. Some of them are derived from actual tuned setups and some aren't although all of the ignition maps are written completely by hand and are not copied from any other maps. Quite frankly, the base maps out there (atleast on the spark advance end) are complete garbage. Hopefully these will help but don't load one in and go run the car at the drag strip an hour later expecting everything to be 100%. As any other base map, it's intended to get a car started and running only and that's it.
Any comments or questions are welcome.

Hey Brian, its definitely a great service you're providing here. I would also like to point out you might want to specify the map sensor used. I saw option 4 selected on one of them. This will definitely throw a map newbie for a loop...

Howdy, the 550850_modifiedzs.dat file in there ought to work IIRC the settings. Check the zip file then swing over to Settings 5 tab in the Datalogit software and eyeball the notes in the bottom right.

BDC,
I like that you are posting this stuff. I think some tuners are unnecessarily guarded about their maps. The kind of people who are looking for basemaps are either
1) just trying to get the car started to get to an actual professional
2) going to tune it themselves anyway.
people take their car to a professional in part because they want piece of mind. It's similar with stock brokers/investment advisors. You could do some research and manage your investments yourself while maybe asking a few professionals for some advice. But in the end people go to professional investment advisors just to feel like a weight is off their shoulders and that they're being taken care of.

Great service! too bad you are texas. That is one hell of a drive. Want to come to me haha .
BTW you do very good port work.
Hey in your map for the 8501680 HBPFD3s_ZS you have for Setting 5 for the Secondary injector listed as 1500 instead of 1680?
Also the F/C (AE/E.L/A/C) - are all set to 8000rpm... Just curious as to why you dont have the fuel cut going on during decel?

Ah, on the bridgeport maps I do not use the fuel cut on decel because when the motor decels back down to a configured RPM (say 1700rpm for example), the car will burp and lurch forward and not respond well. I've never really used it on the bridgeports; the overlap has a negative effect.
