Non-seq and PFC
So I'm doing the poormans non-seq in a week or so, and I just ordered a PFC. As I'm reading about PFC controlling boost in non-seq mode, I'm getting scared. Has anyone actually done this successfully?

I went non seq with a PFC. I'm having a hard time keeping the boost down too, but it hasn't gone above 14psi. You could buy a manual boost controller. I heard that helps.

I am non-seq with many mods and almost stock porting.
The Hallman manual wasn't good above 12PSI as it would spike no matter what I tried. I tried the PFC boost control, it was crap.
Now I am in heaven with a Blitz controller.
Since your question was about using only the PFC to control boost, I can not answer your question.

I just did the non-seq w/ my PFC. I've got the Profec B. It's WONDERFUL. It's exact--every time. I've got it set to .83, and the worst that will happen is that it jumps to .84 in 5th gear.
I did have the Home Depot controller for about 8 months, but it's not consistent. It will jump between .74, and .86 in the same setting, in random gears. If you don't care about that consistency, get the cheap one. If you truly want to be safe, get a good boost controller.

Do any of you still have cats? I am planning on keeping a cat in some form or another, either stock or high-flow. Anyone with a PFC controlling boost in Non-Seq form with a cat?

High-flow (they say) flows 96% as much as a midpipe, so in that case get one. You can still boost spike WAY into unsafe levels with the stock cat on there. Intake, DP, SP, CB are PLEANTY to raise your boost. The home depot one takes no time, and by the ***-dyno, it doesn't really fluctuate enough to be too terribly irritating. A lot of it depends on temperature and air density with that controller.
