KnighSports tuned PowerFC
We have started Power FC setting.
One of merits of Power FC is the easiness to handle.
As for a stoc ECU, there are so many complicated formulea and
variables.
And it has so many memory maps inside it.
For example, it has more than 80 memory maps for just fuel.
It is very difficult even for experts to make suitable settings by
modifying
numerous memory maps.
On the contrary, Power FC has just 13 memory maps, which is basic maps
and
extended maps and starting, throttle, water temp and so on. They are
much less
compared to the stock ECU. Knight Sports have used Power FC since Sep.
2001.
After triyng and reserching, we found that stock Power FC is good
enough for
hi-flow muffler replaced FD. Therefore, after our setting of fuel maps
and ignition
timing maps, clients can make another setting easily when another
modifying by
using FC Commander.
* Fuel Maps*
We use A/F meter and make settings while running. As for A/F, when high
loaded
and hi boost, around 10. During idle, around 14.8. During low loaded
and low boost,
11 to 12. We make it a rule to replace spark plugs with new ones.
* Ignition Timing*
The memory maps for ignition timing is almost the same as the stock
ECU.
But, if knocking happens, Power FC doesn't have retard function that
the stock ECU has.
Then we think that slightly retard ignition timing is needed.
*Electric Fan & Metaling oOil Pump*
We recomend the electric fans start at 85 degree in Celcius. And we
recommend that
the metaling oil should be added slightly.
We make it real that you can modify Power FC and will get good driving
performance.

Is this Knightsport usa doing the PFC tuning? Do you have the dataloggit software or the actual Apexi software? Also, you translated the PFC is good for a hi-flow muffler, but the PFC manual says intake, DP and cat-back. Why the difference?
