Just got My PFC

I just got my Power FC on Ebay. The guy that had it said that he installed it but never tuned it. I want to hurry up and install this in my car to make sure it works. Can I just plug it in or do I need to reset it or tune it?

They come with some basic set up....try it to see if you car will start and the thing somewhat works...If it does then you can tune it up..if not then...come back here and tell us the symptoms!

As a safety precaution, I would reinitialize the PFC so you know you're starting with the factory default maps. Download the manual and read it about 6-7 times to make sure you understand the basics of how it works.

Well I just installed the PFC in my car. I hope the settings are stock I don't think I know how to reinitialize it but I went through the whole 30 min of it "learning" the car seems to be running good but every time I come to a stop my RPM's jump back and forth from 1000-1500. The car is completly stock except for an exahust. Does anyone know how I can fix this and if the PFC is reinitialized and if not how I can do this?

I don't know if this means anything but when my A/C is on the car idles normal. It is only when mt A/C is if that the idle jumps back and forth.

The PFC is still learning.

LISTEN -- don't get on the car hard until you reinitialize the PFC. You don't know what settings have been changed and you'd feel pretty stupid blowing the motor because you couldn't spend a couple of hours reading the manual first....

Do you have the Commander, ie. the controller for your PFC?

Yes I have the commander. I reset the unit to the factory settings and now the idles are starting to get better. The only problem people keep telling me I am going to have is finding someone who can tune it. Everyone is telling me to sell it and buy a microtech.

If I were you, being that it's early in game, dump the PFC/Commander for a Haltech E6X or E11v2. I believe there's an available plug'n play harness for the E6X.

If you keep the PFC, you must acquire the elusive Datalogit, get the LM-1, and have a laptop; if you do not, there's no point having PFC.

No matter the ECU, you cannot tune unless you have a WBO2 and a laptop. The Innovate Motorsports LM1/XD1 works really well and is priced right!
